After being stalked by Scarlett Brady the previous year, Ned Willis was alarmed when she turned up again - Ned had been using the website Fandangle to make extra money, selling videos of himself, with one subscriber offering more and more money for increasingly explicit videos. When Ned found out that Scarlett was behind the whole thing, she blackmailed him into painting her portrait as a gift for her wealthy new fiance, Basil, in return for her not sending the latest video to his family and friends, sure that, even though he didn't show his face, they would recognise his tattoos. He agreed to the deal and, whilst he was working on the painting, a man named Tony arrived at the Erinsborough Hive, the creative hub that Ned managed, wanting to rent one of the spaces, claiming that it was storage for his company, Silver Eye Imports. Some weeks later, after Scarlett had disappeared and framed Ned for her murder, it turned out that she was the one using the room, watching the comings and goings at the hive through the 'eye' on the door.
