After becoming a male escort to get himself out of a financial predicament, Taye Obasi found that, even after paying off his debts, he couldn't stop splashing the cash. Realising that he needed to start saving, he met with Sylvie Santino, who was interested in paying for his services, and she explained that she had been with an escort once before, and that she needed a man who put her needs first, unlike her last boyfriend. As he was working at the Lassiters Piano Bar that evening, Taye told her that he could see her later in the week, but she told him that it was either that night or in a couple of months, as her job involved a lot of travel. Not wanting to lose out, Taye told her that they could meet that evening, but was quickly uncomfortable when she asked to meet at her hotel room. After failing to persuade hotel manager Krista Sinclair to swap his shift at the bar, he decided to go to Sylvie's room early, hoping that he could do everything in one evening. Unfortunately for Taye, Sylvie wanted to take things slowly, so he went along with it, missing his shift at the bar in the process. As the evening progressed, a stressed Taye was unable to perform in bed and rushed from the hotel room, leaving Sylvie disappointed and feeling that she was to blame. As Taye left, he was spotted by Krista, who was confused about his behaviour, particularly after learning that he'd called in sick for his shift at the bar at the last minute. Fortunately, Taye's housemate Max covered for him, claiming that Taye had been feeling unwell with a stomach bug all day and had suffered an unfortunate accident, so had gone to one of the hotel rooms to clean up.
