After being charged with medical manslaughter, David Tanaka was put on remand but with the remand centre overcrowded, he was sent to a maximum security prison to await trial. David had left Gareth Bateman to die, and Gareth's girlfriend, Emma McIver, was on the outside, blackmailing David's friend Freya Wozniak, who's been with him when he left Gareth to die. Freya, a former nurse, was being used by Emma to patch up her criminal associates, warning that if she didn't help, then David would get badly hurt. Emma was using prisoner Dan Waskett and prison guard John Shade to help her inside the prison and, with the police aware that David was being targetted, they asked David to wear a wire to try and catch out the dodgy guard. With Emma forcing Freya to treat a badly-injured man named Austin Julians, and Freya insisting that she didn't have the equipment to help him, a siege broke out on Ramsay Street, while at the prison, John Shade did Emma's dirty work and, while an alarm was going off at the prison, he led David outside to the yard, where he was left alone with Dan. Dan was waiting on a message from Emma, telling him to kill David if Freya didn't do what was asked of her, but having lost contact from David's wire, the police were already onto the situation, managing to rescue David just as the 'Kill Him' text came through to Dan. The police then also had enough evidence to prove that John Shade was corrupt.
