Marisa was deeply in love with and happily married to Marco Silvani. However, they decided to go their separate ways when they discovered that Marco was infertile, and Marisa wanted to have children of her own. After the divorce, Marco met pregnant Carmella Cammeniti and began a relationship with her, which was greatly opposed by his sister Mia, who was also Marisa’s best friend. She did not know the reason behind Marisa and Marco’s divorce and believed that they would end up back together. This was not to be, however, as Mia backed off after Marco explained and he later married Carmella on his deathbed in 2008.
