Bec Simmons 2016, 2017
Occupation: Erinsborough High Student

After Piper Willis and Angus Beaumont-Hannay slept together, word soon got around about what had happened, with Tyler Brennan annoyed when he spotted Angus chatting up another Erinsborough High student, Bec Simmons, at a Halloween party. Believing that Angus had treated Piper badly, Tyler had a go at him, and was embarrassed to realise that it had been nothing more than a one-night stand and that Piper didn't need Tyler to stand up for her. Angus then used his friendship with Bec as a cover when he dedicated a song he played at the party to 'someone special', claiming it was about her when it was actually directed at his teacher, Elly Conway, who he'd developed a crush on and ended up kissing later that night.

The following year, Bec supplied Piper with a fake ID so that she could get into the Back Lane Bar, where her now boyfriend Tyler was working as a barman. Unfortunately, Elly was also having a night out at the bar and spotted Piper and her fake ID and, rather than getting Piper and Tyler into any trouble, at school the next day, she demanded to know who'd been supplying the IDs as several others had already been found that month. Piper refused to say anything, worried about how Bec would take it, but it seemed that someone had beaten her to it as Bec, who'd been suspended from school, angrily accused Piper of being a dobber. When Piper then found Elly and asked who had dobbed on Bec, Elly admitted that she'd worked it out for herself, though she may have given Bec the impression that someone else had told her. Piper was annoyed, but Elly pointed out that both Piper and Tyler could have been in a lot of trouble at the bar the night before and so Piper should be more grateful.

The following month, Elly was having coffee with her friend, Paige Smith, when they noticed that Bec and her friends were laughing nearby. Assuming that the girls were laughing about her, as she'd become central to local gossip after falling pregnant to Father Jack Callahan, Paige confronted them. Bec, however, didn't even know who Paige was and admitted that they were joking about Elly and Angus and the stories about them that had gone around the school months earlier.

Later in the year, at Harold's Cafe, Bec approached Jack, who'd become the new school counsellor, about a problem and he offered to chat to her on the way back to school. When they arrived at Erinsborough High, Bec thanked Jack for listening and attempted to hug him, but he told her that it wouldn't be a good idea, later explaining to school principal Susan Kennedy what had happened and that he understood the boundaries and wouldn't be talking to any of the kids outside of school again. However, when some of the students started to complain about Jack, with many citing his former work as a priest as a problem, Susan ended up suspending him while she looked into it thoroughly. When Yashvi Rebecchi overheard another student, Luke Browne, bragging about making the complaints and how easy it was to get rid of Jack, she wondered if he'd orchestrated the whole thing and decided to ask around, and see if anyone else knew anything. Remembering that Bec and Luke had recently been dating, Yashvi approached her and Bec admitted that she'd had doubts about her relationship, which was why she wanted to speak to Jack in the first place. After she ended things with Luke, he'd blamed Jack and made the false complaints. Yashvi then managed to convince Bec to tell this to Susan and, after also getting one of Luke's friends to own up, Jack was reinstated in his job.
