One of the Erinsborough News’ older journalists, Ken ‘Smithy’ Smith was put in charge of writing a story about the recent underground rave culture in the suburb, much to the horror of cadets Elle Robinson and Riley Parker, who felt that they’d be much better suited to the topic. Unfortunately, their undercover investigation at a warehouse holding an illegal rave ended in tragedy when the roof of the building collapsed, leaving three dead and Elle in hospital with a collapsed lung. Back at home, Elle was furious to read another of Smithy’s articles covering the incident, deeming it poorly-written, with little proper research and no witness accounts.
