After passing a series a psychological assessments, Adam Rhodes faced questions from a panel before it was decided whether he could join the Australian police force. Adam had previously worked as an officer in the UK, but had quit the job, and the country, after his partner, Catherine, was shot dead. Panelists Tom Urban and Naomi Cruise questioned whether Adam was ready to work for the police again, before bringing up the fact that Adam was facing deportation due to his expired Visa, and separation from girlfriend Pepper Steiger, if his application wasn’t successful. Adam admitted to them that he had originally applied in order to stay in the country, but had now rediscovered his love for the job and was determined to be an excellent police officer. The following day, Adam heard that he had been accepted.

• Serge Denardo previously appeared as Alfonzo, a patient who charmed receptionist Marlene Kratz at the surgery in 1997, and as Gareth Rivers in 2000
