As Lassiters Hotel in Erinsborough prepared to host the Worldly Gems jewellery expo in a bid to win the prestigious Bronze Bell award, they found their efforts being sabotaged. Having managed to keep all of the problems under wraps, they reached the day of the expo launch, and Bronze Bell judges James Bilson, Francine De Silva and Henni Wegner arrived to look over their efforts. With a jewellery display set up in the Waterhole bar, hotel managers Paul Robinson and Krista Sinclair were horrified to find that another act of sabotage had been committed, with some of the display cabinets smashed up. Fortunately, consultant Annalise Hartman came up with a quick idea and smashed up more of the cabinets, making it look like it was a deliberate art installation to display the jewels. Soon after, they all found out that Brett Heade, who had been fired as the hotel's temporary manager the previous year, had been behind all of the acts of sabotage as an attempt to get revenge.
