With Erinsborough High threatened with closure due to low enrolments, principal Jane Harris learnt that some of the parents at rival Anson’s Corner High were unhappy with the way the school way being run. The school’s Parents & Friends Association had been planning an emergency meeting, and Jane, along with friend Wendy Rodwell, managed to persuade them to hold the meeting at Erinsborough High. Some of the parents, including Garrett Wilkins, were concerned that the school couldn’t manage an influx of new students. Jane insisted that there was room for everyone, and by the time the meeting concluded, it seemed that she’d managed to persuade some of them to transfer their children. Unfortunately, just then, Jane spotted Terese Willis touring the school with her architect, part of her plan to buy up the school and turn it into a retirement experience. Angry at the intrusion, Jane got upset with Terese, insulting her and tearing up her blueprints, before realising that all of the parents were still behind her, watching, and she’d ruined her chances of enrolling their kids.
