When the erotic story The Book of Secrets swept through Erinsborough, many people recognised the locations from Ramsay Street and were determined to find the author. Dr Karl Kennedy eventually admitted that he was the author, but soon found himself the target of the amorous advances of numerous middle-aged women, whilst his wife, school principal Susan became the laughing stock of Erinsborough High. When Susan walked into The Waterhole one day, she was surprised to find Karl surrounded by a group of women, including Aimee Wu, who were very taken with him after learning of his hidden depths, but after learning of Susan's problems at school, and then tiring of the constant attention from his female patients, Karl realised that his new notoriety wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

The following year, Aimee walked into Harold's Store and ordered a latte and a muffin from Sheila Canning, only to learn that she didn't work there and was just helping herself to a coffee as the place was so busy. However, seeing that Lou was so busy, Sheila agreed to give him a hand until things calmed down and, as Aimee watched them working together, she smiled to herself and later interrupted their bickering to say that they reminded her of her own parents and that they made a nice couple. Sheila and Lou, who had never been a couple and had spent a lot of time arguing with each other, were horrified at the suggestion and both quickly made it clear to Aimee that they were in no way romantically involved.
