Andrew Bibby
Played: Lance Hails Wilkinson
Appeared: 1995, 1996-2001, 2005
Andrew Bibby was born in New South Wales, Australia on October 25th 1980.
Andrew realised he wanted to become an actor when he was just five years old, after playing Joseph in a school nativity play. Five years later, he sought out an agent, and by the age of thirteen, had already gotten his first professional
role. In 1995, after a handful of one-episode appearances in such shows as A Country Practice, Blue Heelers and Ocean Girl, Bibby received the guest role of loveable nerd, Lance Hails in Neighbours. In 1996,
Andrew was then cast in Neighbours again, this time in the regular role of Jon Wilkinson, but it was later decided that the character's first name would be changed to Lance, and he would be the same character Andrew had played the previous year, with
the character's change in surname explained by his parents' divorce, and Lance taking on his mother's maiden name. Lance remains Andrew's most recognisable role to date.
Andrew left the soap in 2000, with his final episode airing in Australia in March 2001, to advance his career, but did not do any more acting until he reappeared five years later for Neighbours’ 20th Anniversary episode in 2005.
Since then, he has appeared in All Saints and My Place, as well as DisPretty, a short film. In 2010, Bibby secured a role as Greg Locke in Underbelly,
where he appeared as a guest star for four episodes. Bibby now works as a paramedic in Sydney, where he sometimes gets recognised as his Neighbours character, Lance.
