Brett Blewitt
Played: Brett Stark
Appeared: 1993-1996, 2005
Born in 1975, Brett Blewitt began his acting career in 1992, appearing in various TV shows, including the sitcom, My Two Wives alongside his future Neighbours co- star, Kym Valentine (Libby Kennedy).
After appearing in one episode of Home and Away, Brett joined the cast of Neighbours in 1993, remaining there until 1996. Brett played Brett Stark, son of Cheryl (Caroline Gillmer/Collette Mann) and the more well-behaved brother of siblings, Darren (Scott Major/Todd MacDonald) and Danni (Eliza Szonert).
Brett and Eliza were the only members of the Stark family not to ever be recast. When Caroline Gillmer was taken ill during a major storyline for Cheryl, the producers had no choice but to urgently recast the role for eight weeks with Collette Mann, who would later return to Neighbours to play Sheila Canning. And initially, Darren Stark was played by Scott Major, later to be taken over in the longer term by Todd MacDonald. Scott Major would later take on the role of Lucas Fitzgerald and later still, become a director for the show whilst still making brief cameos.
Brett Stark left to go sailing round the world, leaving his cherished pet, Dahl the Galah with the Kennedy family. Dahl remained with them until 2014 and became an infamous character in his own right! Brett Blewitt returned briefly after the death of his on-screen mother, and then made a cameo appearance for the show's 20th anniversary in 2005.
Post-Neighbours, Brett guest starred on various television shows, including alongside the Olsen twins in Our Lips are Sealed. He also began writing for production companies and became a collaborative writer with former Neighbours co-star, Jesse Spencer (Billy Kennedy). In 2006, he starred in and directed the short film, Dream a Little Dream.
In more recent years, Brett has become part of a successful new business, Great Race, providing team building events and adventures in Sydney and throughout different cities in Australia.
