Emma Bunton 2007

While Karl Kennedy and Susan Kinski were taking a holiday in London, he planned to surprise her by proposing during an open-top bus ride of the city. Unfortunately, as he took the ring from his pocket, the bus jerked and he dropped it over the edge. He quickly hopped off the bus at the next stop and ran after the ring, leaving a confused Susan behind. As Karl searched, he was approached by former Spice Girl Emma Bunton, who had found the ring and realised who its owner was. An extremely grateful Karl thanked her, not realising who she was, and the pair were soon joined by Susan, who had caught up and, as a huge fan, was thrilled to meet Emma. Emma helped out Karl, again, by claiming that he’d spotted her from the bus and run down to get her autograph, knowing what a big fan Susan was.

Born 21 January 1976, Emma Bunton attended the Sylvia Young Drama School as a child, which led to extra work in EastEnders and The Bill but her big break came in 1994 when she joined a girl group named Touch which would later become The Spice Girls. Following their first number one single, Wannabe in 1996, the girls went on to release a further nine singles, three albums and a movie, Spiceworld, before splitting in 2000. Emma went on to release three solo albums. Her first solo single, What Took You So Long reached number one, though sales for the other singles and albums were disappointing. In late 2006, Emma took part in Strictly Come Dancing in which she finished third and released the official Children In Need single, Downtown, which reached number three in the UK chart. She has been involved with singer Jade Jones since the late 1990s and the couple are expecting their first baby in Summer 2007.
