Born 28th October 1942 in England, Terence Donovan's early acting career included minor roles in Bellbird and The Prisoner. In 1969, he joined the cast of
Division 4 as Senior Detective Mick Peters, remaining with the series for seven years and its entire run of 300 episodes. Appearances in the television series Homicide, Cop Shop, Winners and Prisoner
followed, as well as film roles in Breaker Morant and The Man From Snowy River, amongst others.
Later in the 1980s, Terence made appearances in the soaps The Flying Doctors, E Street, A Country Practice and Sons and Daughters, and in 1990, he played the guest role of Al Simpson in Home and Away.
Later that year, he joined the regular cast of Neighbours as Doug Willis, a role he played for four years. After leaving Neighbours in 1994, he had guest roles in series including MDA, Blue Heelers and
House Husbands. Terence returned to the role of Doug Wills in 2005, appearing during a special week of episode to mark the show's 20th anniversary. He then reprised the role again for five weeks in 2014.
Terence is also well-known as the father of singer and actor Jason Donovan, from Terence's first marriage to Sue McIntosh (nee Menlove). They were divorced in 1973, and Terence married his second wife, Marlene Saunders, in 1980.
