Alexandra "Ally" Fowler, born 6 December 1961, started her TV acting career with an ongoing role in Sons and Daughters playing the character Angela Hamilton from 1982 to 1984, followed by regular roles in Possession in 1985, playing the character Nicola Shannon, and as Zoe Davis in Neighbours in 1986.

She fronted the 1980s band Chantoozies; the group had top 10 hits in Australia with a cover version of Witch Queen in March 1987 and an original track, Wanna Be Up, in May 1988. Their debut self-titled album peaked at number 8 on the ARIA Albums Chart in September 1988.

The group disbanded in 1991 and Ally Fowler returned to acting, securing parts in Big Sky in 1997, Farscape in 1999, All Saints from 2005 to 2007 and Wentworth from 2013 to 2014.

From 2012, Ally has also participated in reunion gigs by Chantoozies.

In 2016, thirty years after her last stint on Neighbours, Ally Fowler rejoined the cast, this time playing the recurring guest character of Nene Williams, mum of Amy.
