Elliot Goblet Comedian
Elliot Goblet 1994
When the residents of Ramsay Street went away on a murder mystery weekend, the compeer for the event was a police officer who kept the other guests in line, provided clues and generally moved the party along. Although the mysterious policeman never mentioned his name, one of the guests, Rick Alessi, was convinced that he recognised him. The party, however, came to an abrupt halt when, on the morning of the second day, Julie Martin was found unconscious in the grounds of the hotel and was rushed to hospital, where she later died.
Elliot Goblet – the alter ego of Australian comic Jack Levi – first appeared on television in 1982 in ads for a Sydney furniture store. His fame then grew to numerous stand-up spots on television shows such as Hey Hey It’s Saturday and Tonight Live, and, despite offers, Jack refuses to play anyone other than the deadpan Elliot. During his 1994 appearance in Neighbours, he even made alterations to the script to make sure it fitted with Elliot’s inimitable style.
