Hamish & Andy Comedians
Hamish & Andy 2008
After realising that she had to get her friends Rachel Kinski and Ty Harper together, crazy Donna Freedman came up with a scheme to get one of their songs played on the radio, with a message from Rachel to Ty. When they arrived at Triple E radio station, Donna was disappointed as the receptionist unenthusiastically took the CD and failed to listen to the story behind it, but then Donna spotted two of her favourite DJs, Fred and Big Tommo. She approached them and rambled on about Rachel and Ty, before they agreed to the two girls appearing on their show. It wasn’t long before Donna put her foot in it – mentioning that Rachel had recently come out of a controversial relationship with her teacher, Angus Henderson – and then managed to get them playing the wrong song, Unforgettable, a duet between Rachel and Ty. Ty heard it, however, and was touched by the gesture.
Hamish & Andy are an Australian comedy act, who have had their own television and radio shows. Hamish Blake and Andy Lee met at university and developed their own sketch show on cable network Channel 31, before being signed by Seven Network, who produced The Hamish And Andy Show in 2005. The series lasted only two weeks, but they were then offered a shift on Fox FM which proved popular and they now host The Hamish & Andy Show, from 4-6pm on weeknights. They went on to make appearances on Rove Live, wrote their own series, Real Stories and hosted the 2008 Aria awards.
