Born in Melbourne in 1978, Sachin Joab's interest in acting began at primary school and, after completing high school, he attended various acting workshops before moving to New York to
attend the Actors Studio. Upon his return to Australia, he spent three years at the National Theatre, before getting an agent and winning a television role in City Homicide. A further guest appearance in the series Rush followed, as well
as roles in the films My Year Without Sex, Big Mamma's Boy and Taj.
In 2011, Sachin joined the cast of Neighbours in the recurring role of councillor Ajay Kapoor. The following year, Ajay became a regular character and moved into Ramsay Street with wife Priya (Menik Gooneratne) and their teenaged daughter
Rani (Coco Cherian). 2012 also saw Sachin appear in the film 101 Terrorists and as Bruno in the series Conspiracy365. Sachin left the cast of Neighbours when his contract came to an end, completing filming at the end of April 2013, and
last appearing on Australian screens in July of the same year. 2013 also saw Sachin appear as Inspector Ranesh in the series Better Man.
