Australian actor Russell Kiefel joined Neighbours in 2015 in the guest role of Russell Brennan, father to the Brennan brothers. This wasn’t Russell’s first association with Neighbours, as from 1996 to 1997, he was one of the story writers for the show.

Russell a graduate of the National Institute of Dramatic Art in 1974, and went on to use his acting skills across theatre, television, film and writing.

Home and Away, Call Me Mr Brown, Stingers, Heartbreak High, Blue Heelers and All Saints are just a small handful of television programmes in which he has appeared.

Russell has also had roles in films such as Son of a Gun, Glimmer, The Farm and Dogwatch, and between 1997 and 1998, he was the acting coach on Home and Away.
