Ben Lawson
Played: Frazer Yeats
Appeared: 2006-
Born in 1980 in Brisbane, Queensland, Ben Lawson was the middle child in a family of five boys. After attending St Joseph’s College, he was encouraged by his mother to pursue an interest in acting and joined Sydney’s National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). After graduating in 2004, Ben appeared mainly in theatre, perfecting the skills he’d picked up at NIDA, but since work in that field was becoming scarce, he auditioned for one of four new roles being cast in Neighbours.
Having won the role of the mysterious gambler Frazer Yeats, Ben began filming in July 2006, along with Natalie Saleeba as Rosetta, Nicky Whelan as Pepper and Christian Clark as Will, quickly becoming a popular character, thanks to his dry humour and on-off relationship with housemate Rosie. In May 2007, he was nominated for the Logie Award for Most Popular Male Newcomer.
