Rove McManus Television Host
Rove McManus 2006
After successfully having her first novel, The Bogan’s Tipped Hair, published, Janelle Timmins was invited to appear on one her favourite shows, Rove Live and be interviewed by Rove McManus. She was accompanied by her teenage daughter, Bree, who had actually rewritten her mother’s novel before it was accepted to be published. As she prepared for her live appearance, she tried to come up with some anecdotes to share with Rove, and even had a practice interview with neighbour Harold Bishop. However, when her big moment came, Janelle became tongue-tied and admitted, live on-air, that she wasn’t the author of the novel. She then pointed out Bree in the audience and Rove called her onto the stage and asked her if what her mother was saying was true. Although Bree claimed to have simply made a few small changes, Janelle stopped her and said that it was all her daughter’s work.
