Neil Morrissey Actor
Neil Morrissey 2007
During the holiday of a lifetime to London, Karl Kennedy surprised his partner Susan Kinski, firstly by proposing, then with a romantic wedding ceremony on a cruise boat on the Thames. Whilst chatting to the vicar (played by Neil Morrissey) and waiting for Susan to arrive, Karl realised that he had no witnesses and quickly grabbed a couple of tourists. The ceremony then ran perfectly but, seconds after being pronounced man and wife, Karl and Susan were alarmed to see Karl’s ex-girlfriend, Izzy Hoyland, appear. Her intention was to tell Karl that the baby she was carrying was his, but she suddenly went into labour. Karl then delivered the baby as a surprised Susan, and the vicar, looked on.
Born 1962 in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Neil Morrissey first rose to fame in the UK in the mid-80s as Ricky in Boon before the role that he is most often associated with – Tony in the sitcom Men Behaving Badly. He then found a new audience in the late 90s as the voice of Bob in children’s animated series Bob The Builder, which even spawned a number one single. Further roles followed, including the leads in drama series Paradise Heights in 2002 and sitcom Carrie and Barry in 2004. He has also had numerous West End theatre roles, including Robin Hood, Acorn Antiques and Guys and Dolls. October 2006 saw him film his Neighbours cameo in London and he has recently joined the cast of the BBC school drama Waterloo Road.
