Geoff Paine
Played: Clive Gibbons
Appeared: 1986-1987, 1989, 2017-

Geoff Paine, was born on 8th August 1965. In 1985, he auditioned for the part of Clive Gibbons in Neighbours and got the role, first appearing on screen in early 1986, as the show made its move from Channel Seven to Channel Ten. Geoff left the role in late 1986, making his last appearance on screen in early 1987. He made a brief return to Neighbours in 1989, this was because a spin off called City Hospital was planned - although a pilot was made, it was not picked up by any television networks.

Geoff has continued to act, write and produce, as well as running acting classes. After leaving Neighbours, Geoff appeared various television series, including A Country Practice, Blue Heelers and The Games. He also appeared in the TV movie Kangaroo Place in 1997. In 2006, Geoff was the writer of five episodes of the TV series The Wedge. More recently, Geoff has appeared in Very Small Business, City Homicide, Mal.com and The Doctor Blake Mysteries.

In late 2016, Geoff returned to filming with Neighbours, and was back on screen on a recurring basis as Clive from March 2017, twenty eight years after he had last appeared. This briefly gave him the record of the longest gap between appearances for a Neighbours actor in the same role. The record was broken only three weeks later, when Jenny Young returned to her role as Kim Taylor/Tanaka, 32 years after last playing her.
