Sinitta 2007

As their holiday in London drew to a close, Karl Kennedy surprised ex-wife and new fiancée Susan Kinski with a romantic wedding ceremony on a cruise boat on the Thames. But as he chatted to the vicar and waited for Susan to arrive, Karl realised that he’d forgotten to find any witnesses and was forced to grab a couple of tourists (played by Sinitta and Jonathan Coleman) to do the job.

Born Sinitta Renet Malone, on 19th October 1966 in Seattle, Sinitta had small film and musical roles in the early 90s, but, following a stint as the lead singer in Hot Gossip, she launched a solo career in 1983 and, in the years that followed, under the guidance of Stock, Aitken and Waterman, went on to have numerous hit singles, including So Macho, Toy Boy and Cross My Broken Heart as well as two popular albums, Sinitta! and Wicked. The 1990s saw less success for Sinitta, with minor film roles and ill-fated attempts to relaunch her music career, but her role as a singing coach on reality series The X Factor brought her back into the public eye in 2005. She went on to appear as a contestant on another reality series, Cirque Du Celebrite in 2006, then appeared as a judge on Grease is the Word, a show looking for two leads for a West End production of Grease, in 2007.
