Matt Wilson
Played: Aaron Brennan
Appeared: 2015-

Matt Wilson, from Bondi, Sydney, was born in 1988.

Originally a builder and carpenter, in 2010, he won the title of Australia’s Hottest Tradie. From then on, he started picking up various presenting, appearance and speaking jobs. During this time Matt battled extreme anxiety issues, so he decided to confront his fears and took himself off to NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) to do some classes and get more comfortable with being in front of people, learning how to own the stage and feel at ease.

The training paid off as Matt’s first role was being chosen from a cast of thousands to score a gig on Gateaway American Road Trip 2010. The 2010 National IQ Test followed and then he appeared in a 9to5 magazine cover. In 2011, Matt appeared in Underbelly: The Golden Mile.

Also in 2011, he was named one of Cleo Magazine’s 50 Most Eligible Bachelors. This saw him set off on a two-week trip to find Australia’s Newest Hottest Tradie, co-hosting six events around the country with crowds in excess of 500. Matt was also contacted by underwear brand aussieBum to undertake modelling work and went on to appear in 6 successful international campaigns.

In 2013, to celebrate 30 years of Diet Coke, the brand conducted an extensive Australia-wide search for an Aussie hunk to represent Diet Coke locally, with Matt taking the title.

In May 2015, it was announced that Matt was to join Neighbours as new regular character Aaron Brennan, first appearing on screen in June 2015.
