January Actor Updates
Jan 31 2009

Sam Clark (Ringo Brown) reportedly spent his Christmas and New Year break from Neighbours in the recording studio, putting the finishing touches to a debut album with his band, which is as yet unnamed.

Brett Tucker (Daniel Fitzgerald) has moved on from his relationship with former co-star Eliza Taylor-Cotter (Janae Timmins), which ended last month, and has been spotted out and about with ex-Australian Idol contestant, singer Ricki-Lee Coulter.

Holly Valance (Flick Scully) has apparently trashed the show which made her a star, claiming that she recently saw an episode of Neighbours and it was "rubbish". She also said that she would only be interested in returning to the show if they changed the format.

And finally, 8-year-old Holly O'Leary, the younger sister of Neighbours actors Blake (Ben Kirk) and Fletcher (Mickey Gannon) has scored herself a role as an extra. Filming took place in the Melbourne suburb of Box Hill last week, with Holly's scenes due to air in Australia in April, and in the UK in July.

TV Tonight has exclusively revealed that the Ramsays are heading back to Ramsay Street later this year. A family, comprising three siblings, will be moving in in a few months' time, forming a new generation of Ramsays - a name not heard in Ramsay Street since Gemma Ramsay moved out in 1991.

In addition, we can reveal that the first to be cast is 18-year-old Ashleigh Brewer as Kate Ramsay. She and her two siblings, who are yet to be cast, will come to Ramsay Street when their mother dies in a car accident.

Ernie Bourne Passes Away
Jan 22 2009

Former Neighbours actor Ernie Bourne has passed away, aged 76. He's probably best known to us as mechanic Rob Lewis, former father-in-law to Paul and grandfather to Elle, but he had numerous other film, television and stage roles in his long career, including parts in Prisoner: Cell Block H, Adventure Island and Blue Heelers, and musicals Fiddler On The Roof and Beauty and the Beast. The Herald Sun reports that he died of old age, at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital, with his daughter, actress Sally Bourne, by his side.

Rest in peace, Ernie.
