No 28: Karl and Susan arrive back from the dance, Karl saying how typical it is of Paul to spend a fortune to make himself look good. Susan points out it is politics and people's perceptions that count, but Karl wonders whether people are really naive enough to fall for Paul's tricks. Karl is surprised when Susan doesn't respond when he says that it is lucky she didn't take the money, and points out that the whole offer is a bribe. He tells Susan that she must think that Paul is a hero for offering the money; Susan refuses to discuss the fact she didn't turn Paul down, instead going to bed, telling Karl it has been a long, exhausting day.

Harold's Store: The next morning, Josh sees Amber sitting at a table and heads over to explain he was just being nice in the interview as the newspaper sponsor him, and that he was not flirting. Josh goes on to say that the interviewer was the boss' daughter, and that he wouldn't be a jerk towards her. Amber sarcastically retorts that Josh is good at being a jerk, and adds that him rushing off to training is clearly more important than patching things up with her. Josh suggest they put things on hold for a while as he is fed up of playing games. Amber snaps back they should end it; Josh heads off for training.

No 30: Callum, who is holding his mobile phone to his side in the middle of a call, tells Toadie and Sonya he is thinking of not going to China. Toadie tells Callum he can't change his mind, and Sonya points out that she and Toadie have already paid for the tickets. She then asks why Callum has had a sudden change of heart about the trip. Callum says nothing, but Toadie and Sonya jump for joy when Callum fails to deny that anything happened at the dance the previous night. He asks if that means he doesn't have to go to China, but Toadie and Sonya tell him that he will have a great time and Josie will still be there when he gets back. Toadie and Sonya call out a hi to Josie, who is still on the other end of the phone, and Callum slopes off, explaining to Josie that he still has to go to China.

No 28: Rhiannon has just fixed breakfast, and explains to Susan that taking money from Paul makes you feel as though you need to take a shower afterwards. Susan says she knows there are strings attached, but explains that she doesn't have a choice as the school department often put her into a tight spot. Rhiannon says that with Susan on Karl's side, he may be able to win the election, after Susan has argued that the best man doesn't always win when it comes to politics.

Ramsay Street: Karl is out jogging, when he reaches Number 30. Spotting Toadie, he explains the situation regarding Paul trying to buy his way to political victory. Karl explains that he needs a strategy if he is going to win, and Toadie offers to help Karl with this once he has dropped Callum off at the airport, an offer which Karl gratefully accepts. Meanwhile, Rhiannon is leading Jackson out of Number 28, explaining that whilst Karl and Susan are at war, she'd rather they weren't in the house. Jackson greets Mason, who has just come outside. Heading over, he asks what Rhiannon is doing, noticing her taking the details of the For Lease sign outside Number 24. Mason says that Number 24 might be too expensive, but Rhiannon says that they can afford it. Shocked, Mason asks what Rhiannon means and Rhiannon tells him that her and Jackson have outstayed their welcome at the Kennedy's and Mason is fed up of living at home, so moving in together would be a win-win situation. Rhiannon heads off, calling the agents.

No 30: Toadie is shouting though to Callum asking if he has finished packing. Toadie tries to hurry him along, so that they do not miss the flight. Meanwhile, Sonya is chatting to "Sleepless in Erinsborough" on the Internet, offering suggestions as to how to get a baby to sleep well, offering advice such as trying a hot water bottle. The other person writes back that they have tried everything and have had no luck whatsoever. Sonya laments on how bad the situation is for "Sleepless in Erinsborough" whilst Toadie shouts to the bedrooms to get Callum to hurry up. Sonya is worried she has been offensive when the other person fails to respond to her suggestion that maybe occasional care for the baby would be a good option. Sonya looks into child are on the Internet whilst Toadie heads off to help Callum search for his passport.

Charlie's: Sheila tells Terese that with paid parking gone, the business is nearly back to normal. Terese explains that it needs to be better than that and Paul, who is sat watching from the bar, asks whether she has considered a suggestion box for ideas. Marching off, Terese says she needs to look over the books somewhere quieter, and casts a look in Paul's direction. Sheila admonishes Paul for not keeping to his word of being hands-off with regards to the business and Paul reiterates that as far as his election promises go, he will stay true to his word. Paul explains the motivation behind his campaign and what he is doing; Sheila points out that he hasn't really said anything at all, and instead is just "shovelling smoke".

Lassiter's Hotel: Rhiannon is working, when she sees Mason across the foyer. Running excitedly across to him, she waves a piece of paper in his direction, telling him she has filled in her parts of the application already. Mason urges her to consider it carefully; Rhiannon may not get the property as she doesn't yet have a rental history. Rhiannon replies that she put Mason's name on the lease and told the agent that he was great friends with Ajay. Mason replies that he barely knew Ajay, but Rhiannon retorts that the agent wouldn't know that. Getting into the lift, Rhiannon justifies how they would be such good tenants. Before the doors close, Terese walks past trying to get cover for reception as there has been staff sickness. Rhiannon jumps out of the lift and offs to fill the vacant position for the day: Terese tries to say that Rhiannon is not ready yet, but when Rhiannon explains how hard she has worked to improve her speech, Terese relents and whisks her away to try on a uniform. Before leaving, Rhiannon tells Mason she will smash the job and get Number 24.

Lassiter's Hotel: A little later, Paul comes into the hotel, asking Rhiannon what she is doing there. When she says she is filling in for a sick colleague, Paul explains that he is unable to work due to a faulty smoke alarm in his apartment. Mason bundles over and asks if there is a problem, but Rhiannon calmly offers the use of the conference room while maintenance fixes the smoke alarm and in addition offers to send complimentary coffees to Paul too. Mason congratulates Rhiannon, who then asks if Mason has filled in the tenancy form; Mason admits he hasn't and Rhiannon urges him to hurry up, as she can get it to the agent in her upcoming break.

Harold's Store: Josh comes in to buy something from Amber, who is serving at the counter. Amber yells through to the kitchen for Lauren, who in turn yells back that she is busy. After a tense exchange, where the two repeat themselves, asking if that is it, Josh tells Amber to forget it and walks out. Lauren walks over to the counter asking what happened and Amber snaps back that it was all Josh just being an idiot.

Lassiter's Hotel: Terese watches impressed as Rhiannon offers tips to hotel guests of where to visit in Darwin. She hands Rhiannon the reference for the lease, and thanks her for covering during the afternoon. Rhiannon is disappointed when Terese says she is unable to offer her a receptionist position as she is fully staffed and there is low turnaround. Rhiannon replies that she was hoping for more training and to work her way up the ladder like Mason is doing. Terese asks Rhiannon if it is a career she wants rather than just a job, and when Rhiannon admits how much of a buzz she gets from her work, Terese heads off to make a call, asking Rhiannon to hold on.

Ramsay Street: Toadie yells from outside Number 30 at Callum, who is still indoors to hurry up so they can drive to the airport. Happily, Callum comes out and says that Josie is allowed to go to the airport, so he wants to know if they can pick her up on the way. Toadie tells Callum they will collect Josie, and joyfully Callum jumps into the car. Sonya, who has just put Nell into her car seat, tells Toadie that in Erinsborough there is only one childcare centre. Toadie realises that campaigning for more would be a great opportunity to strengthen Karl's campaign, and calls Karl to tell him.

Harold's Store: Sheila is having a cup of tea, when Rhiannon comes in and asks her for a reference. Sheila wonders whether Mason and Rhiannon moving in together is too soon, but when Rhiannon explains the situation, she writes her reference on the lease form. Rhiannon adds that Terese got in touch with Gaby Willis in Darwin and found a receptionist job for her there, however she turned it down so that she could be with Mason. Sheila is surprised and says that opportunities like that come along rarely, especially for a single mother with a high school education. Rhiannon bounces off, pointing out that she is not single anymore. Before she heads off, she asks Lauren what Mason's favourite meal is: Lauren replies that it is lasagne. Lauren looks shocked when Sheila explains what the question was all about; Rhiannon's plan to move into Number 24 with Mason.

Harold's Store: A little later, Susan is meeting with Paul, telling him that she is accepting his offer of money to keep the radio station running. She adds that there are conditions: The school will remain neutral and Paul is not to pressure them in any way. Karl comes in and thanks Paul for his generous contribution before Paul gets up and leaves. Surprised, Susan asks why Karl has changed his mind. Karl explains that he is running a strong campaign, and points out the issue of childcare. Susan says she likes that Karl can campaign as a good, strong father, something that money can't buy.

No 22: In the back garden, Terese asks Josh why he came home early from training, telling him that he is never not in the mood for training. Terese guesses that Amber is the cause of Josh's loss of interest in training and tells him he should be making it up to her, rather than sulking in the back garden. Terese adds that he gave up school to concentrate on swimming, but that swimming is starting to suffer because of his moods. Terese also says that it is starting to affect all the others in the house and that the situation is simple: if the relationship isn't working then he is better off without it.

Harold's Store: Amber is explaining to Lauren how Josh didn't show up at the dance. Lauren tries to justify Josh's behaviour, explaining how important the interview was, but Amber replies that Josh is just a spoilt brat. Amber storms off, just as Mason arrives. Lauren asks Mason if he is moving out and points out that taking on a family is a big commitment. She asks Mason if he is ready for the commitment, adding that if things don't work out, then Jackson would be let down. Lauren goes on to say that, sometimes, what people think is the right decision for everyone isn't, and that all she wants is what is best for everyone.

No 28: Mason brings the unsigned lease to Rhiannon, telling her they shouldn't rush into things as they haven't had a proper chance to talk about it. He urges Rhiannon not to get Jackson's hopes up, in case things don't work out. Rhiannon asks if Mason is referring to the house or them as a couple. Just then, Jackson arrives with some seeds so that he and Mason could start their own vegetable patch in their new house. Rhiannon explains that may not happen, and not wanting to disappoint Jackson, Mason suggests creating a cricket pitch instead. As Jackson runs away happily, Mason signs the lease form and reluctantly hands it back to Rhiannon.
