Recap
• Everyone is stunned as Paul is elected mayor
• Sheila is annoyed with Kyle for jumping from Georgia to Kate
• Kyle tells Kate that he wants to make a go of things with her
• Jacob kisses Sonya, and she tells him that she can't see him again
• Sonya confesses to Toadie that Jacob kissed her

No 30: Sonya follows Toadie into the house, insisting that it was just one kiss and that Jacob was confused and didn't mean it. Toadie wants to know why she didn't just tell him when it happened, and she admits that she thought she'd wait until after the mediation, as she didn't want to complicate things further. Toadie asks if she just sees him as a convenient form of legal aid, but then Callum appears, wanting to know what all the shouting's about. Toadie tells him to ask Sonya, then walks out of the house.

Harold's Store: Georgia is sitting alone, thinking about things, when Jacob walks in, pushing Elliott's pram. She asks about the street party, and he says that he didn't stay for long, as he gets the feeling that Sonya's sick of having him around. He says that he has to do some work at the juice bar, and he'd rather do it while Sonya's not there. Georgia asks if things are really that bad, and then offers to look after Elliott for a while, and so they arrange to meet later, at Charlie's.

No 30: Callum can't believe that Jacob kissed Sonya, and he realises that Josie was right and they had that big fight for nothing. Sonya insists that she doesn't have feelings for Jacob, and Callum wonders why Toadie was so upset - Sonya sheepishly says that she didn't tell Toadie about the kiss straight away, as she wanted him to stay on as Jacob's lawyer, feeling that Jacob wasn't a bad person, just confused. Callum says that he realises that Sonya wants to help Jacob, but he shouldn't matter more than her own family. He then goes to a crying Nell, and Sonya just sits and shakes her head.

No 26: Sheila and Chris are both surprised to learn that Kyle is going out for dinner with Kate - he says that it's no big deal, they're just hanging out and having take away. After Kyle has gone, Sheila says that she thought Kyle and Kate would have realised by now that this is a mistake, but maybe they'll come to that conclusion in their own time.

Eclipse Apartments - Paul's Penthouse: New mayor Paul is suited up, ready to go and preside over the Australia Day fireworks. Kate, meanwhile, is still in her dressing gown and looking at take-away menus, and Paul is surprised that she isn't making more effort for her first real date with Kyle. She insists that they're both happy to keep things casual for now, and Paul tells her that he hopes she'll put in a little more effort for his 50th birthday next week. He then reveals his plans to fly in Elle, Andrew, Tash, Harry and Sophie for the event, though Lucy won't be coming as she's too busy. The intercom then beeps and Paul buzzes Kyle up to the apartment, as Kate starts to panic that he's early. Paul tells her to relax, as she and Kyle have been friends for ages, so there's nothing to worry about. Paul leaves as Kyle comes in and realises that he's early. He offers to go and come back again, but Kyle tells him to make himself a drink while she goes and gets ready.

Sonya's Nursery: Toadie tracks down Jacob, who's pleased to see him, until he realises that Toadie knows about the kiss. Jacob insists that it was just a stupid mistake - Toadie tells him to pack up his stuff and leave, and never contact the Rebecchi family again. Jacob says that he'll be stuffed without Toadie's legal help, and that none of this is Elliott's fault, so he doesn't deserve to lose his father over it.

Eclipse Apartments - Paul's Penthouse: Kyle has been making a cocktail, which he christens Purple Haze. He and Kate make a toast to Australia, but they both hate the cocktail so she opens a couple of beers instead.

Charlie's: Georgia notices that Jacob is very quiet and asks if everything's OK - he then admits that he kissed Sonya. Georgia is very upset by this, especially when she learns that he and Sonya kept it a secret for almost a week. Jacob says that he never intended to hurt anyone, but Georgia says that he should have thought about that before he started kissing someone else's wife. Jacob says that Toadie won't represent him anymore in the custody battle, but Georgia has little sympathy, and Jacob begs her not to give up on him too, as she's the only friend he has left.

No 30: Sonya is relieved as Toadie finally returns home, and he asks her if she has feelings for Jacob. She says that she doesn't, and that the whole situation has just gotten completely out of hand. Toadie tells her that he can forgive her becoming too involved in Jacob's life, but he struggles with the fact that she kept the kiss a secret, as he thought they were a stronger couple than that. He explains that he's told Jacob to stay out of their lives, but he's asked Toadie to continue with the mediation - Sonya asks what he's going to do, and Toadie tells her that he wanted to talk to her about it, before making up his mind. She says that she wouldn't blame him if he wanted to cut all ties with Jacob, but he really needs some help with this, and Toadie is the only one who can provide it.

Eclipse Apartments - Paul's Penthouse: Kyle is talking about how he once thought about opening up his own pizza place, but Kate points out that he would have eaten all the profits. They then go out onto the balcony to watch the fireworks, and Kate talks about her mum and how they always went to see the Australia Day fireworks as a family, which was a tradition she tried to keep up, but now she's failed, and she and her siblings are in different places. Kyle points out that they're all still family, even if they're not together, and Kate kisses him.

Eclipse Apartments - Paul's Penthouse: Kate and Kyle are talking about what a great evening it's been and they kiss again, but then the lights all come on, and Paul walks in, apologising as he thought they'd gone out. Kyle quickly becomes awkward and says that he has a busy day at work tomorrow, so he kisses Kate on the cheek and leaves. Paul apologises, saying that he thought Kyle might have stayed over, but Kate insists that they're taking it slowly. Paul then gets a text to say that Sophie and Harry can't make it down for his birthday, and to make matters worse, he notices that all of his scotch is gone. Kate says that she and Kyle drank it, but she offers to go down to to the bar and get some more.

Charlie's: Georgia apologises to Jacob for ranting at him, and says that the situation is nothing like what happened with Kate and Kyle, but she's still feeling a bit raw over that. She realises what a sad pair they make, and Jacob says that they both need to lighten up, so he starts telling jokes, just as Kate walks in and spots them laughing together.

Lassiter's Complex: Toadie is sitting outside Harold's, as Jacob comes along and asks if he's changed his mind. Toadie says that he will represent him in the mediation, as he understands how difficult things must be for Jacob - though that doesn't excuse what he did. He says that it will be a purely professional relationship, and Jacob can't go near Sonya or their home - once the mediation is over, they will cease contact. Jacob looks very upset, but agrees to these conditions. Toadie says that he'll do everything in his power to make sure that Jacob wins, and they shake hands. Nearby, Kyle is sitting with Bossy, trying to work out whether he should go up and see Kate.

Eclipse Apartments - Paul's Penthouse: Kyle and Bossy walk in, and Bossy immediately runs to hide under the couch, not too keen on seeing Kate. Kyle apologises for the way the evening ended, and admits that he's fine when it's just the two of them, but he starts to feel guilty when anyone else is around. He decides that he needs to get over it, and asks if she'd like to go and have a very public breakfast with him down at Harold's. She takes his hand, and they leave.

Lassiter's Complex: Jacob and Georgia are sitting outside Harold's, having breakfast, and she's holding Elliott. Jacob says that he was so relieved when Toadie agrees to take on his case, but he's disappointed that he won't get to see Sonya again, as he valued their friendship a lot. Just then, Bossy runs up to Georgia, and there's a very awkward moment as Kyle, Kate, Georgia and Jacob all look at each other, and Kyle suddenly lets go of Kate's hand.
