She tells Des she is only telling him now, as she has no money. Des tells her she can stay at No.28. Andrea tells him she’ll tell the neighbours Bradley’s father has died so no one will learn he’s the father.
At the Robinson house, Lucy tells Helen how great Bradley is as Madge arrives. Helen congratulates her on Shane & Daphne’s engagement and Madge asks Helen for one of Jim’s jumpers, as she wants to knit one for him. Lucy embarrasses Madge as Helen goes to get the jumper by asking if she loves Jim as people only give presents for that reason. Madge declares “No”!
At the Ramsay house, Danny remarks how Shane vowed he’d never marry but Shane replies that was before Daphne came into his life. Max tells Shane if he needs advice but Shane reminds his father he is the one separated in his marriage. Danny asks if he can have Shane’s ‘little black book’ for all the telephone numbers of single girls. – Shane refuses and burns the book.
Back at number 28, Bradley explains he only likes art classes at his old convent school because if he stared long enough at the nun teacher she would lose her temper with him. Des gives up trying to learn more about his son. Des and Zoe realise Bradley has been drawing pictures with Zoe’s lipstick – Zoe demands Andrea punish her son. Andrea replies she does not respond to orders. Zoe pleas to Des to intervene but Bradley tells her to ‘shut up’ as Andrea is in charge.
At number 22, Shane tells Daphne he’s got a flat for them to move into but she refuses to move until they marry. Shane calls her old fashioned and tells her he wants to marry her soon.
At the Ramsay house, Max spots a bag of wool and knitting pattern and tells Danny he suspects the jumper will be a present from Madge for his birthday. When Madge returns to the room she moves the bag suspecting Max will discover it.
At the Robinson house, Lucy introduces Bradley to Helen, who takes an immediate dislike to him as he insults both her and her paintings.
Back at the Ramsay house, Shane tells Danny they’ll have to sort out what they are going to buy Max for his birthday. Max returns to the room with the family photo album for Danny and all his medals for Shane. Danny tells Max he has stopped looking for his real father as he now considers Max to be just that. Danny and then Shane then begin to argue over ownership of the medals.
At number 28, Zoe threatens Des that she’ll move out if he does not talk to Andrea and Bradley is not punished. Des agrees to deal with it but is silently hurt when Zoe unwittingly blames the absence of a father figure.
At the Robinson house, Helen tells Daphne she suspects she is still on the rebound from Des – Daphne disagrees telling Helen that Des obviously doesn’t care now he’s moved Andrea in.
Out in Ramsay Street, Bradley is cheeky to Max who responds by grabbing Bradley’s ear to march him home but Bradley runs off towards No.28 – Bradley tells Lucy he wants her to back him up that Max hit him.
At the Clarke house, Des tells Andrea to ‘cool it’ with Zoe when Bradley runs in claiming Max has hit him across the head. Livid Andrea leaves to confront Max…
At number 24, Andrea furiously tells Max if he touches Bradley again she’ll sue him – before Max can retort he receives another chest pain and Shane calls to Madge and Danny to get Clive.
Later, Clive tells Max he has to change his eating habits. Max goes to bed and Shane leaves to see Daphne when Zoe arrives. Madge tells her the news about Max’s health and they discuss the type of men they go for. Madge is quiet when Zoe tells her she likes the older man like Jim.
At number 28, Des tells Bradley to try and get along with the neighbours and respect them, but Bradley is not listening.
At the Robinson house, Andrea introduces herself to Helen. Helen tells her she doesn’t want Bradley to play with Lucy as he’ll be a bad influence and she is already unpopular in the street. Outraged, Andrea tells Helen both she and Bradley are staying in the street and Helen can ‘’stuff it’’ if she doesn’t like that. Andrea storms out leaving Helen speechless.
