At number 28, Andrea tells Des she doesn’t expect him to answer her proposal straight away but tells Des she does expect total commitment if he says yes. Andrea starts to tell him that he has to start accepting his responsibilities with Bradley when Zoe arrives and kills the mood. Des makes an excuse to leave the room by wanting to see Bradley in bed. Zoe tells Andrea she’s using Des. Andrea retaliates by telling Zoe she should move out of No.28 – Zoe tells her never. Andrea reminds Zoe she is a guest in Des’s house and she is now getting Des to review his priorities…
At the Ramsay house, Madge tries to get Max to eat muesli for breakfast but he refuses wanting to eat a cooked breakfast. Danny arrives for breakfast and Max is overwhelmed when both Danny and Shane give him a present of an indoor gardening book and trowel.
Back at number 28, Des is in a good mood and even more so when Daphne arrives to see Zoe. She tells Zoe that Max is in need of cheering up and Des suggests they take him out to dinner. Zoe & Daphne agree and Andrea comments she and Des can have another night in together. Zoe saves Des by insisting he come out to dinner too – Andrea is furious.
At the Robinson house, Paul tells Helen that ‘Home James’ will be a waste of money but Helen defends her and Shane’s optimism. After Paul leaves Lucy tells her she has a sore throat – Helen checks but decides to still send her to school. Lucy retorts ‘‘if I go to school I’ll see Bradley!’’
Back at number 24, Max agrees to go out to dinner but Madge is worried is too dangerous for his heart. Shane tells Daphne he won’t be able to go to the dinner, as he has to wait on some phone calls for ‘Home James’. Daphne is disappointed.
In the Clarke back garden, Andrea is sunbathing when Paul arrives and takes a moment to admire her in her bikini. Paul refuses to lunch due to a meeting with a client but asks her out to dinner. Andrea tells him she can’t due to Des being out and Paul tells her they can have dinner at a later date.
At Pacific Bank, Zoe calls in to see Des about getting an overdraft to buy Shane & Daphne an engagement present. Des tells her she can’t have any more money until she pays back what she owes – Danny innocently suggests they give her a cash card. Des is worried at the prospect of Zoe spending more money.
At number 24, Max smartly dressed welcomes Daphne and Zoe as they arrive to escort him to dinner. Madge tries to get Max to reconsider going but he refuses. Des arrives but Shane is jealous of him going out with Daphne. After the dinner guests leave, Shane tells Madge and Danny he suspects Des is trying to win her back.
At the Robinson house, Helen agrees with Paul that they should take Lucy to see Dr. Carter about her sore throat. Lucy tries to get out of going but Helen insists they go.
At number 24, Madge continues to fear about Max’s health while out and Des being with Shane. Danny tries to placate Shane by telling him Des is only tagging along on the dinner – Shane comments Des better not try anything!!!
At the restaurant, Des praises Daphne about her appearance but she is unimpressed. Zoe and Max are focused on making sure they have a good time.
At the surgery, Dr. Carter looks at Lucy’s throat and tells Helen there is nothing to worry about. Paul and Helen thank him. Helen comments on how sad it is about Max dying – Dr. Carter looks strangely at her and tells them it isn’t true.
Back at the restaurant, Daphne gets the bill for the meal and is surprised how expensive it has been but she still refuses to allow Max to pay. Zoe remarks the cost of the meal shows how much the owners have a sense of humour.
At number 24, Shane continues to worry about Daphne spending time with Des despite annoying Danny and Madge. Helen arrives and tells them she has spoken to Dr. Carter who told them Max is not dying but has a bad case of indigestion. The Ramsay clan erupt in fury.
