At number 28, Des is horrified to see the rat. Andrea arrives home from being out shopping and tells Zoe she needs to call the police to inform them of what Grant is doing. Zoe agrees but Des is already looking to get rid of the dead rat.

At the Robinson house, Jim is comforting Lucy as her ear still has the ringing noise in it. Helen arrives back with Clive so he can check on Lucy’s condition. He advises them that Lucy go to hospital.

Out in Ramsay Street, Zoe is leaving No.28 when she sees Jim carrying Lucy to the car, followed by Helen & Clive. Jim tells her they’re taking Lucy to hospital. Zoe offers to go with him but Jim tells her no.

At number 24, Charlene arrives home late for dinner and Danny isn’t pleased at being kept waiting. Charlene sees the bouquet of flowers and questions if they are from Fred, but Tom informs her they are from Jack Lassiter for Madge. Danny comments that he is still annoyed that Max hasn’t contacted him. Madge offers some comfort and suggests Tom take Danny out for a round of golf. Tom jumps at the idea to prove to his nephew how much better he is at the game than Max. But when Danny mentions playing 18 holes, Tom’s enthusiasm wanes.

At the hospital, Dr. Melissa Leeman explains to Jim & Helen she is unsure of when the ringing in Lucy’s ear will stop. After Dr. Leeman leaves, Jim paces the corridor before Helen asks him to calm down as Lucy will need him soon.

Some time later, Jim & Helen are allowed to see Lucy who is resting in bed. Clive leaves to go get coffee. Lucy tells them her ear still hurts and explains it happened after she got frightened by the phone and fell from the kitchen stool. Jim wants to ask more questions but Helen tells him to wait until the following day for more answers.

Back at the Ramsay house, Tom is asleep on the sofa. Charlene decides to place a golf ball on Tom’s open mouth to the amusement of Danny. Tom wakes up sharply as he can’t breath and seeing what happened shouts at the two of them that he could have died! Angry he tells Danny he’s not going to play golf now. Madge tells him in that case he can join her by the pool to help her fill in her business form application.

Back at the hospital, Helen urges Jim they should leave for the evening as Paul & Scott will still be worried. Jim refuses to leave. Lucy tells her father she is sorry for causing all the trouble with Zoe and she only did it as she thought he would stop loving her. Dr. Leeman arrives to urge Lucy’s visitors to leave. Helen & Clive go but Jim stays on.

At number 28, believing he is alone in the house, Des practices his love poetry. Andrea & Bradley who have just arrived home, laugh at his efforts. Des tells them the news of Lucy’s hospitalisation.

At number 24, Danny is showing Charlene his golf swing in the lounge, when Tom comes in and takes over from Danny to prove how it is really done. Tom hits the ball which smashes the handle off of one of Madge’s vases she inherited from their grandmother. Madge comes into the kitchen but is diverted by Charlene. Tom and Danny agonise on how to fix the handle back without Madge’s knowledge.

In the street, Helen and Clive arrive home. Zoe meets them to ask how Lucy is. Helen explains what has happened and when Zoe reveals she blew the whistle down the phone at her stalker earlier, Clive begins to realise what has happened.

Back at number 28, Zoe is adamant to Des, Andrea & Bradley that it must have been Lucy making nuisance phone calls to her. Upset Bradley admits it was Lucy but he’d helped her too to stop her from ‘splitting’ the Robinson family up. Bradley admits he taped Scott’s voice to use as the callers voice and the rat he found dead under No.28. Feeling guilty, Zoe asks Des to drive her to the hospital so she can face Jim.

At number 24, Tom and Danny carefully place Madge’s vase back with the handle stuck on. Madge comes into the kitchen with Charlene having picked some flowers, and sees Tom & Danny rush out of the house. Madge goes to use the damaged vase for her flowers but Charlene tries to dissuade her. Madge ignores Charlene and picks the vase up by the handle. The wet handle comes away and the vase smashes. Madge realises who the culprit must be and yells ‘’TOM RAMSAY!’’

Back at the hospital, Zoe and Des arrive outside the entrance. Zoe tells him she fears telling Jim what has happened but is even more worried that Lucy and Bradley could hate her so much. Des tells her not to worry before driving off. Zoe nervously goes into the hospital.

At number 28, Andrea tells Bradley he has betrayed Des, her and Jim. She explains even if Jim does love Zoe it won’t stop him loving Lucy any less. Andrea becomes angry with him and sends him to bed. Des arrives home to hear Bradley sobbing in his room.

At the hospital, Jim is by Lucy’s bed to try to get her to sleep. He leaves the room to join Dr. Leeman who explains that Lucy has a fractured ear-drum but it will heal. Zoe arrives to overhear her also explain that Lucy could end up deaf. Dr. Leeman leaves and Zoe blurts out it was her fault as she blew a whistle down the phone at her "stalker" and if Lucy does end up deaf it will be all her fault...
