Stingray was unhappy this week, as his older brother Dylan began to integrate himself into Ramsay Street. As Stingray got back together with Serena, it seemed like Dylan was about to ruin his happy life and he was determined to get rid of him, explaining that his brother had constantly picked on him when they were growing up. In the end though, Susan convinced Stingray that Dylan deserved as much of a chance as anyone and she helped him to enrol in Erinsborough High and the two brothers patched up their differences. The following day, he started at the school and it wasn’t long before his true colours shone through when he conned Susan into believing that he’d been sleeping rough. This resulted in her offering him a plate at number 28. The following morning, Dylan convinced Stingray and Serena to wag, taking them off swimming instead. When they turned up late, Dylan lied to Susan, claiming that they’d run over a dog, and had been trying to find the owner which caused them to miss school. As Dylan continued to lie about it that evening, Stingray blurted out the truth, leading his brother to take out his anger on him. Dylan is certainly an interesting character, and very believable as an older version of Stingray, who didn’t stay on the right side of the tracks like his younger sibling.

It was the moment of truth for David as the by-election hit Erinsborough. A last-minute publicity stunt by David, involving posters of him draped in the Australian flag, looked like sealing his fate, as the votes starting coming in and he was trailing behind. However, a quick phone call from Paul to one of his friends in high places and suddenly David was back in the race and elected a councillor. It was clear that Paul was developing some strong feelings for Lil as the two of them then shared a celebratory hug. It wasn’t long before David was coping with the press, who turned up to take a family photo. Meanwhile, Paul was also causing problems in another relationship, as Karl’s jealousy over Izzy and Paul’s business relationship continued to bubble under the surface. When this led to Izzy then accusing Paul of coming on to her, she told Karl that the situation would have to stop, before it messed up her business and personal lives.

Stuart began to realise that he had to think positively and approached the police about returning to work. He was informed that they didn’t have anything available for someone in his position, but he insisted and was rewarded with a job manning the telephones at the station. Sindi was very impressed with his new outlook, as he managed to turn his life around and started to get around on his own. As Stu’s independence continued, Sindi was worried when he insisted on going out and catching the bus alone. When she followed him, though, she was delighted to find him coping extremely well. The week ended with more good news as Toadie decided to forgive the pair of them and told Stu that he no longer had to sell his share in number 30.

The Hoyland family found themselves forced to face up to their many problems as Boyd found himself getting more and more involved at the gym. His new obsession saw his behaviour change drastically, as he started becoming very choosy about what he wanted to eat and when he wanted to eat it. As this continued, Summer found herself the target of bullies at school, as word spread about Steph’s recent court case. Summer ended up punching the ringleader, Hamish, and found herself in trouble. When Max and Steph heard about it, Steph wasn’t in the least bit surprised, pointing out that Max’s way of dealing with problems is to get angry and it was obviously rubbing off on the kids. As an argument broke out, Max warned Steph to stop interfering and she pointed out that Boyd and Summer were probably the closest she’d ever get to being a mother.

Also this week, Toadie found himself a new identity, with a little help from Lyn, as he transformed himself into new wrestler, The Lawman. Meanwhile, Connor found himself with a new challenge from Lucia when she asked him to deliver a briefcase, containing sensitive information that may hurt Carmella. Connor ended up opening it when it accidentally got swapped with Stuart’s case, but was relieved to find out that, by opening it, he’d passed the test. Carmella was also in a quandary, when the entire editing staff at All Her magazine walked out. Luckily, some help from Sindi, as well as Izzy, got the magazine to the publishers on time, and cemented some new friendships. Notes: This week saw the debut of a new, blue design for the Erinsborough High uniforms.
