A shorter week, due to the Bank Holiday, which saw Bobby Hoyland finally get his comeuppance…

As Bobby continued to turn on the charm for any lady in Erinsborough who’d listen, Karl began to voice his concerns about this man being such an influential figure in Izzy’s life. He admitted to her that he was slightly jealous of her constantly turning to Bobby, so she decided to make it up to him with a romantic dinner. Unfortunately, their plans were cancelled when Bobby talked Izzy into holding a karaoke night at the bar for some Japanese clients. Although Karl briefly turned up for a quick singalong, he had soon skulked off back to the surgery, where Izzy found him. This quickly led to another argument in which Karl warned Izzy that her father would let her down and would never stop being a lothario. Izzy refused to believe this, until Karl blurted out that Susan and Bobby had slept together. Izzy was quick to confront Susan, who, in a rare attempt to spare Izzy’s feelings, pretended nothing had happened, but her face said it all. After confronting Bobby, who claimed that Susan had come on to him, Izzy began to have her own doubts about her dad, but when he suggested that he should leave town she was quick to veto the idea. As Max then found out that Bobby had given Summer his mobile phone in order to get rid of all his women callers, it looked like the senior Hoyland had been sprung once again. He decided it might be worth cutting his losses and, as Lyn was growing more and more besotted, he announced that he couldn’t see her any longer. A devastated Lyn finally owned up to her secret relationship to Susan and Janelle, and the three women realised that Bobby had played them all for idiots. They decided to get some revenge and a “sultry” Janelle called Bobby and asked him to come over that evening. Although he was meant to be having dinner with Karl and Izzy, he managed to duck out after the first course, claiming to be ill, and a suspicious Izzy decided to follow him. As Janelle, Lyn and Susan tied up Bobby, told him what they thought of him and threw him out in his underwear, a devastated Izzy watched from the window, realising that everyone else had been right about him all along.

Having ended her household chore strike, Janelle quickly moved on to a new drama when Lou introduced her to ‘Cash’d Up!’ credit. Before long, she’d bought a new plasma tv for number 26 and announced that the family would also be getting a new car. The entire family was thrilled with the idea, despite Lyn’s concerns that the resulting debt could be too much for Janelle to handle. Elsewhere, Dylan and Janae were busy trying to win over Sky and Boyd. As Dylan announced that he wanted to go out with Sky, she realised that she needed time to think and turned to ex-boyfriend Boyd. As Boyd realised that Sky was moving on, he admitted that he was also developing feelings for Janae. After a huge argument, both Sky and Boyd decided to pursue their friendships with the Timmins siblings and see what developed.

Max and Steph were in for a big shock as a young girl saw their profile and felt that they’d make perfect parents for her unborn child. The next day, they attended a meeting with Peter Reece, as well as the 16 year old girl, Kayla Thomas. Kayla explained that her dad was dead and her mother threw her out of home when she was 13 and that the father of the child did a runner when he found out. Kayla and Steph quickly formed a bond over their shared love of motorbikes and the prospective parents asked Kayla what sort of future she wanted for her child. Kayla was touched by this, realising that nobody had been bothered enough to ask her before that. She explained that she wanted her child to have an upbringing full of love, the complete opposite of her own. After the interview, Max and Steph began to feel guilty, as if they were stealing Kayla’s child away from her, but Peter assured them that those sorts of feelings were quite normal at this stage. Soon after, the Hoylands received a call to say that Kayla had chosen them to adopt her child and they had to come to a decision. Despite the fact that the whole adoption process has moved unbelievably quickly, it’s still been quite a realistic depiction in terms of the emotions and anxieties that the situation puts people through.

The boys at number 30 were still slightly uneasy around each other, as Toadie continued to voice his concerns over Stu and Sindi’s engagement. Things only got worse when Stu chose Connor to be his best man, and Toadie started making digs that Stu wouldn’t be able to afford the lavish wedding that Sindi would want. Fortunately, Sindi seemed more concerned about patching up the friendships and arranged for the four of them to have dinner together. Luckily, it worked, and Toadie admitted that Sindi would probably make a wonderful wife, leaving Stu to decide that he wanted both of his best mates as his best men.

Finally this week, following the revelations about Liljana and Paul’s relationship, Mr. Robinson was worried that his girlfriend hadn’t been seen for a few days and hadn’t even been in touch. When he heard that David was also out-of-town, Paul grew paranoid that the former couple had gone away together, but was unable to get any information out of any of Lil’s friends, and was forced to wait for news.
