A secret revealed led to vandalism and one character’s sudden disappearance…

Paul and Izzy’s secret affair was finally revealed this week, long after it had ended, but just in time to cause yet more drama for several residents of Erinsborough. When Lou overheard his new housemate Paul arguing with a drunken Izzy on the doorstep, he quickly worked out that they’d been more than friends in the past. As he struggled to keep his cool with Paul, he ended up announcing that he’d be moving out. But the process quickly turned ugly as Lou stood at the end of the driveway, with an unforgiving Paul watching him go. As Susan, Karl, Lil and David appeared, Lou got his own back by announcing the details of Paul and Izzy’s illicit affair to the crowd. In what seems to have become typical of some excellent writing lately, the incident was the catalyst for several other events in the days that followed. Finding himself homeless, Lou decided to join his old mates Phil and Doug on their fishing trip. Paul, meanwhile, arrived home that evening to find that his home had been trashed with a message telling him to get out sprayed on the wall. As accusations flew and were placed, in turn, on each member of the Bishop family, it turned out that Liljana had been the one to vandalise her ex-lover’s home. This uncharacteristic move on her part made Paul realise that she still had feelings for her, regardless of how she displayed them, but Lil ignored his efforts to win her back. Meanwhile, after a couple of weeks back in Erinsborough, doing nothing to speak of, Lucy left her brother to head back to New York. And she wasn’t the only one to go, as, following the revelations about her affair with Paul and yet another public scene with Karl, Izzy disappeared from the area.

Stu’s bucks’ night finally came around and the boys were determined to give him a good time with a stripper named Misty Peaks. Unfortunately, Sindi got to hear about it and ended up issuing a threat to Toadie’s life. The boys then came up with a plan to convince Sindi that they would be having a quiet night after all, before heading to the club. Sindi wasn’t fooled for a second, but continued on with her own plans for a quiet night in, with Susan as her only company. Later in the evening, Toadie spotted a woman in the club wearing a red wig and was convinced that Sindi had been following them. Upon their return to number 30, Susan was asleep on the couch and Sindi was claiming to have been there all night, but Toadie wasn’t convinced. He tried to convince Stu not to marry her, ruining their friendship in the process and with even Connor now starting to think that Toadie was becoming obsessed. As the wedding day drew closer, Toadie desperately tried to find proof from the video of the bucks’ night, but all he ended up with was a bad picture of the back of someone’s head. With the wedding almost upon them, Toadie agreed to stop pursuing his claims and the three friends finally made up. And with so many questions left unanswered about Sindi, it looks like it could be a very eventful wedding…

Elsewhere, Dylan realised that Sky was under the impression that he was a virgin. Determined to prove her wrong, and mistakenly thinking that he was doing the right thing, he presented her with a rather long list of all the girls he’d ever been with. Rather unsurprisingly, Sky was horrified and slammed the door in his face. And by the end of the week, things were still no better as the pair ended up in the middle of yet another argument. Meanwhile, Sky’s cousin, Serena, was dealing with her growing feelings for her boss, Connor. It looked like those feelings were reciprocated as Toadie teased Connor about not wanting to pick up other girls as he was smitted with Serena.

Having been informed about The Bride Stripped Bare, a novel about an ordinary housewife, Janelle began her own version this week – The Bogan’s Tipped Hair. In typical Janelle style, and in some of the funniest scenes all year, she used her neighbours as inspirations and imagined scenes in which Susan chastised her over her children’s behaviour and Karl and Paul fought for her affections. Another of the family’s money-making schemes came to fruition this week, as Janae’s video appeared on Stupid Aussies. Everyone was thrilled when she won video of the week, for her performance as Britney Spears falling over, and received a prize of $5000. However, as everyone began to make plans to use the money to pay off some debts, Janae stopped them all in their tracks by telling them that it was her money and she was keeping it.

Finally this week, after a few choice words from Janae, Karl decided to move on with his life, but made a big mistake when he asked Susan to join him on his trip to Europe. The Hoylands finally tracked down Kayla, who admitted that Anthony knew nothing about baby Ashley – and she wanted it to stay that way. They convinced her to tell him the truth and in the end, mother, father and baby were reunited. And Joe was getting closer to Lyn as he spent time at number 26, fixing the roof, but it looked like he’d have to get past lodger Janelle if he was going to get any further with Mrs Scully.
