Things heated up between Stuart and Olivia this week as the pair spent increasing amounts of time together, both at work and at play. Following an intimate meal at her house, the pair found they couldn’t keep their hands off each other at work, which led to them both being formally warned about their actions. However, things got tense when Stuart recognised a criminal as being one of Mac’s associates and tried to intervene, only for her to stop him from doing so. Later, she admitted to her dealings with the building site robberies and other criminal activities, but despite his head telling him to report her to the authorities, Stuart found it difficult to tell on his colleague and love interest.

Stingray suffered a setback in his progress in combating ADHD, when he discovered that being back on the drugs made him too calm to skate properly. Following a talk from Sky and a consultation with Sky, he decided he would try once more to do without medication and eat sensibly instead. Susan vowed to help him in her preferred method of combating the disorder. Sky, meanwhile was also busy with Sindi in developing their lingerie party business. Their first public party, however, didn’t quite get off to the start they’d hoped for as Rose Belker and her elderly friends turned up for the so called ‘fashion show’. Despite their reluctance at first to display frilly underwear in front of the pensioners, they quickly reaped the rewards as Rose and co. soon bought out their entire stock. Ann Summers, eat your heart out! A new arrival in town also spelled trouble for Ms Mangel this week, in the form of Sindi’s Canadian cousin, Lana Crawford. Despite Lana forming a bond with Serena through both working at the Coffee Shop with her and discovering that both had suffered at the hands of paedophilic photographer, Chris Cousens, Sky wasn’t impressed by Lana’s ‘new girl’ attitude at school, nor of her mocking of Lou and Harold. As most viewers will be aware, Lana’s introduction is primarily to act as a catalyst for the confused sexuality of Sky, and as such it is difficult to analyse their relationship early on objectively.

Back in town on Monday was Svetlanka Ristic – mother of Liljana and part-time Serbian witch. Determined to make amends with the family, seven months after she caused upset and misery by revealing Liljana’s illegitimate pregnancy from years ago, she contacted Serena about the possibility of reconciliation, and presented her with an expensive bracelet for good measure. However, when mother and daughter met for the first time, no love was lost. Svetlanka offered a pay out of $100,000 to the Bishops to try and make good the problems she caused. Despite David’s keenness to take the money and rid themselves of financial trouble, Lil was having none of it – believing it to be a bribe. Svetlanka’s reappearance is a welcome one, in as much that she fits into the category of ‘older female’, which the show has been lacking for many years - with the exception of the comic Valda. Svetlanka, despite her so far apparent evil tendencies, has the makings of a true soap battleaxe and toned down a little would make a perfect permanent resident in Ramsay Street.

The Hoyland household was full of drama this week, also, as Jack was discharged from hospital and he moved in with Max and Steph to recuperate. However, within no time at all his desperation and loneliness led him to contact a friend of Mac’s about getting more drugs. Thankfully, Jack contemplated this and broke down in tears in the hallway. Steph found him and agreed to support him through his rehabilitation. The pair headed off to a country house to spend some quality time together as brother and sister, much to Max’s dismay who believed Jack was causing a rift in the family. Elsewhere, Summer and Caleb’s romance blossomed as he again visited Erinsborough to see her. In a bid to impress Max, he was taken along too to meet Roger Wilson, Caleb’s father. Despite Max and Roger getting on famously, Summer’s dad still had some reservations about Caleb’s ‘silver spoon’ attitude.

Elsewhere in Erinsborough, as Darcy lay deep in coma, Izzy began to suffer terrible dreams involving Darcy confessing all to Karl. Believing it was as a result of the fright from the supposed break in, Karl vented his disgust at Darcy’s behaviour to Susan, who still had faith in her nephew. However, aside from their differences, Karl and Susan were getting along reasonably well, as both attended their mature student classes and protested against the closure of their common room at the university. Finally, robots were central to some of the action on the show this week again, as Toadie ignored Sindi for most of the time in favour of wires and batteries. He and Connor entered ‘The Cake-taker’ into a competition against Seamus’s creation and won.
