A week of shock revelations, and the return of an old face, made for some interesting times in Erinsborough…

With the operation underway, it seemed that Liljana had been saved by Luka and the members of the Bishop family were able to relax briefly. However, Svetlanka was determined to prevent Serena and Luka from continuing to see each other, and tried desperately to keep the secret, that they were siblings, from coming out. However, a confrontation between Svetlanka and Serena forced her to reveal the truth to her granddaughter, who was left horrified. Following this, it seemed like it would be only a matter of time between Liljana and Luka learnt the truth.

Connor was shocked when Carmella returned to town and quickly conned him into becoming her chauffeur. She made it clear that she had moved on from him and was now seeing an Italian stud named Gian Carlo. Meanwhile, the love lives of the other residents of the House of Trouser were also taking unexpected turns. After weeks of guilt, Sindi was finally forced to confess to Toadie that she had kissed Stuart. Toadie had been desperate for them to get back together, even asking her to move in with him, but after learning about the illicit kiss, he took his hurt out on Stu. It seemed like it would be quite a while before their friendship was back to normal, but at least the storyline has brought a bit of interest to their uneventful relationship.

Boyd’s problems increased when number 32 was the target of a Molotov cocktail from a vengeful Travis. Although the kitchen was left badly damaged, nobody was hurt, but Boyd was determined not to let Travis get away with it. When he and Summer spotted Travis on their way home from school, Boyd managed to hide out in the back of his ute and ended up back at Travis’ house. Meanwhile, Summer alerted Max and they, along with the police, managed to keep in touch with Boyd via his mobile phone. Boyd found himself a hiding place and helped Stuart to trace him whilst he recorded a confession from Travis on his phone. However, when Travis released his dog, Satan, in the garden, Boyd was forced to reveal himself as he climbed a tree to escape. Boyd’s strange behaviour in recent weeks built to several strong cliffhangers as this storyline came to a climax, but hopefully there will be some attempts to explain why he’s suddenly gone off the rails again.

The Scully marriage looked like it had come to a natural conclusion, as Lyn realised that things were over, and broke the news to Jack and Susan. She tried to keep things from Steph, who already had her own problems with the IVF treatment, and continued to kid herself that things might work out if she moved to Bendigo. As the stress built up, her shoplifting habit also made a reappearance. Jack’s upset led to him revealing the truth to Steph, and the kids ended up taking sides in their parents’ marital problems. Meanwhile, at the school, Libby and Susan were facing problems with their new tolerance policies, as some parents felt that it wasn’t right to confront young children with racism and homophobia. Particularly vocal was Lisa Jeffries’ mother, Andrea, who confronted the two teachers in the Coffee Shop and made sure to drag up their pasts in her argument. A meeting was called at the school, which also ended badly, with Mrs Jeffries even threatening to go to the papers about the immoral way in which the teachers behave, and instruct the children. Sadly, the reaction of Andrea Jeffries was probably very close to the truth in many cases and, although she was shown to be very much in the wrong, it was interesting that she brought up Libby and Karl’s past indiscretions. It was a clever way to show that regardless of people’s opinions, things are never entirely black and white.

Karl was left embarrassed as he realised that his insecurities about Jemery Levi, Izzy’s psychiatrist, were unfounded. As he confronted the man he believed to be Jeremy, he found out that it was infact Dr Philip Smith, who shared the office. Connor was forced to reveal to Lou that he was infact the mysterious Carol after a misunderstanding involving a wine merchant. Meanwhile, Summer got a shock when Caleb returned to town, and she attempted to get revenge. Unfortunately, as she tried to get him to spend more and more money on her, he admitted that he was now back living with his mother in Eden Hills, and she wasn’t as rich as his father, leaving the two of them with a stack of food and no way to pay for it.
