Written by Paul Gartside, Directed by Scott Major, Produced by Jason Herbison

Channel Eleven: 03/10/14, Channel 5: 17/10/14

Kyle gives a speech at the engagement party saying he can’t wait to marry Georgia... Mal arrives back at number 28 and tells them that his wife Catherine is pregnant... Mal asks Susan and Karl to move London with him permanently... Karl doesn’t think it’s a bad idea and Mal asks if that means they are going to come...

The episode begins by opening the cover of Harold Bishop’s book “Ramsay Street – A History” and turns to the page about the Kennedy family. The next page shows a picture of Karl, Susan, Mal, Billy and Libby when they arrived in Ramsay Street in 1994.

Karl and Susan are standing on the front porch at number 28, the same place as they were when the picture in Harold’s book was taken 20 years ago. Karl can’t believe it has been that long. Susan says that in some ways it feels like a lifetime ago and in some ways it doesn’t feel like any time has passed at all…

Flashbacks show Mal and Billy coming out of the front door of no.28 with Susan following. They join Karl and Libby in the street and Susan asks Libby if she thinks she’ll cope - Libby asks her if she is really asking herself the same thing. Susan looks over at Karl, who's waiting with his clipboard for the removalists to arrive.

Karl agrees that 20 years is a long time, suggesting that maybe it's long enough. Susan ponders the question and says that it may be.

At Lassiter's, Kyle and Georgia arrive to check out their hotel suite. Georgia runs through her checklist and Kyle confirms that Brennan is able to step in to cover for Chris as best man. Sheila arrives with Georgia’s wedding dress (the right one this time). Georgia goes to try it on but Sheila says not to as it's bad luck for the groom to see it before the big day. Kyle agrees and goes to call Honga back, leaving Sheila and Georgia alone. Kyle and Georgia are excited as they say goodbye, as it’s just one more sleep before the wedding.

..

Outside Harold's, Karl is telling Lou that it's 20 years to the day since the Kennedy family moved to Ramsay Street. Lou can’t believe that Karl and Susan are thinking about moving on to London, and he's equally shocked that 20 years have passed so quickly. Karl says that he and Susan were talking about it the other day, how excited he was to be moving to the suburbs…

Flashbacks show Susan and Karlunpacking his things at his new surgery in Erinsborough

Lou and Karl continue talking and Lou says they joined the nosiest street in the world, but quickly made themselves at home - sometimes a little too much at home…

More flashbacks show Susan in the hot tub as Karl strips naked, just as Cheryl walks out of the door and catches them; Susan and Karl are naked and about to go skinny dipping just as Harold catches them again.

Back at the hotel, Sheila says Georgia looks magnificent as she walks out in her dress - just as Kyle walks in! She hides but it’s too late, he's seen everything. Sheila says it was just a superstition and he shouldn’t worry but Kyle thinks he might have just jinxed the wedding.

At the Waterhole, Lou tells Karl and Susan to divide their time, enjoy the best of both worlds. Susan thinks they like to be settled and enjoy routine so that wouldn’t work. Paul walks in and Lou tells him that the Kennedys are thinking of leaving, Paul is shocked. Paul says they have been making each other miserable for as long as he can remember…

In more flashbacks, Karl tells Susan he is a one woman man, Karl kisses Sarah, Susan is devastated and slaps Karl, Karl kisses Izzy, Karl tells Susan he doesn’t love her, Karl tells Susan Izzy is having his baby, Susan tells Karl she hates him and she will never forgive him.

Paul says they must be doing something right though as they always end up back together…

More flashbacks show Karl asking Susan to marry him again, and again for the 3rd time, with scenes of Karl and Susan playing about, ripping up their divorce papers, and getting married again (twice!)

Paul says it’s not about the place but them being together, but for the record he would miss them a little bit if they left - he then asks them not to tell anyone he said that!

At the lake, Kyle is worrying that he has ruined the wedding but Georgia asks him what is wrong as it must be more than that. He is upset as Honga isn’t coming because he thinks Georgia doesn’t like him. Georgia says he is a bit much but as Kyle has known him so long she wants him to be there. Georgia tells Kyle to stop worrying - everything will be fine. He wants to make sure her ring fits so tries it on Georgia but then he freaks out about it being bad luck and accidentally drops the ring in the lake.

Karl and Susan are standing in the middle of Ramsay Street discussing whether to leave. They talk about how much the community means to them but Karl says sometimes they have to do things for themselves. Susan remembers the good times but Karl says they’ve not all been good times…

Flashbacks show Karl and Susan running through the bush fire, Karl phoning Susan as he suffers a heart attack, Libby in hospital, Susan slips and loses her memory, Susan is diagnosed with MS, Karl speaks at Drew’s funeral, and Karl and Susan hold each other and cry.

Karl thinks that as long as they’re together, they’ll be ok.

Kyle walks out of the lake in a scuba suit, after trying to find the ring. After going through the findings, including quite a few Right Prescription CDs, Georgia finds the ring in a shoe. Kyle starts sneezing and worries he is getting a cold, so Georgia sends him home to put his feet up and assures him that no one is cursed! She tells him nothing else will go wrong.

At number 28, Susan shows Karl the wall where Toadie wrote his name, which she covered up and promised to keep a secret. Susan is surprised to find that all of the youngsters who've ever lived in the house have added their names too, realising that word must have got around over the years. It gets them thinking that there is a reason that they both always end up back on Ramsay Street - it’s their home…

Flashbacks show the Kennedy family surprising Susan as she comes in the door, Karl showing Susan the painting of the kids, Karl and Susan kiss, Karl gives a speech about the neighbours, they watch the Millennium fireworks together.

Mal walks in on Susan and Karl hugging and kissing and says knowingly that they have made a decision. They tell him that they have.

At number 30, Georgia is packing as she answers a call from Kyle. He is resting and they start talking about how the next time they see each other, they will be getting married. They say they love each other and say goodbye. Toadie walks in and Georgia explains what has happened with Honga, and that she is driving up to Frankston to sort things out but she’ll be back before tonight. As she leaves, Toadie gets a phone call from Susan to tell him about their decision.

Toadie and Karl are opening champagne to celebrate - the Kennedys are staying! Lou and Mal are there too as they talk about how Susan and Karl belong to the street. Karl tells Toadie he needs to learn not to write on walls - Toadie can’t believe Susan dobbed on him. As they are pouring the champagne, Paul walks in, he wants to make an offer on the house. Lou tells him that they've decided to stay, so Paul stays for a drink to celebrate. They have a toast “to good neighbours” and Paul continues “to good friends”. We then see the wall, with everyone's names written on it, along with a couple of new additions - Karl and Susan.

In a carpark in Frankston on the morning of the wedding, Georgia wakes up with a nightclub stamp on her arm, confused to find herself in the car and suddenly alarmed as she realises what day it is, and that the battery on her phone has died.
