Written by Matthew Bon, Directed by Chris Adshead, Produced by Natalie Lynch

Channel Eleven: 10/04/18, Channel 5: 10/04/18

Yashvi and Shane kicking a football... Karl tells Shane that he's researching the correlation between cholesterol and fertility in men over 40 but informs him that their test results are confidential... Kirsha helps Jimmy in his efforts to talk to Poppy by agreeing to be his wing-woman... Jimmy asks Poppy to mini-golf and later thanks Kirsha for her help... Xanthe is unhappy with Ben's surprise visit and tells him that they have to break up...

At no 26, Xanthe tells Ben that she gave up her schooling and nursing studies because of Finn, and is adamant that she won't do the same thing again because of a guy. She goes on to tell Ben that she loves him but also loves the idea of finishing school and going to university, and even though not having him in her life would kill her, she admits that she is juggling too much. She mentions that Elly suggested that she drop a subject to manage her workload better, but she is reluctant to do that and therefore other choices have been forced upon her. Ben takes the hint that she can't be with him just now but admits that he can't stop loving her, to which Xanthe agrees. She suggests that once his apprenticeship is over and she has finished year 12 they can reconsider their relationship, assuring Ben that despite her focus needing to be on her studies, she still sees Ben as her one and only. Upset at the finality of her decision, Ben tells Xanthe that he should go as he has a long drive ahead of him, and tearfully leaves.

..

Steph has popped over to no. 28 to see if Ben would like to do one final session the car before he leaves for Oakey, but Susan tells her that he has gone to see Xanthe. In passing Steph mentions that Sonya and Toadie are due back tomorrow from their trip. As they continue chatting Susan receives a text message from Ben informing her that he has just broken up with Xanthe.

At the penthouse, Jimmy and Poppy are kissing as Amy interrupts them. Embarrassed, Amy quickly goes off to the kitchen to avoid making things awkward for Jimmy, but then comes back into the living area to ask them if they would like a snack. Poppy takes the opportunity to leave, telling Jimmy and Amy that she has things to do. As she leaves, Amy comes over to try and talk to Jimmy about what just happened, but he tells her that he doesn't want to have this conversation ever and goes to his room.

..

Over at Harold's, Jane and Dipi are chatting about Harold - Dipi tells her that she would love to meet Harold one day as he is such a huge figure in Ramsay Street folklore. As Jane goes to leave, Kirsha enters the cafe. She is on the phone to Jimmy as he tells her about his awkward moment with Poppy and his mum, but Kirsha doesn't divulge any of the details to Dipi. To change the subject Dipi introduces Jane to Kirsha, telling her that she used to live in their house a long time ago. Jane is surprised to see Kirsha studying despite it being the school holidays and decides to sit down and talk to her about history.

At the Waterhole, Shane's hand is still throbbing, and Mishti tells him that he should go to a doctor if the pain is flaring up. She intimates that he won't be able to audition for Dipi's musical if his hand is still hurting, and Karl takes this moment to offer up his services for the musical interludes, despite Susan's attempts at dissuasion! Dipi sadly tells them that her musical show is unlikely to go ahead due to a shortage of money. As Karl and Susan go to leave, a worried Karl goes over to do some checks on Shane's wrist as Dipi and Susan chat to one side. Susan tells Dipi that it feels as if her and Karl are finally getting back on track after a rocky few months.

..

Out on Ramsay Street, Xanthe and Steph are looking at Ben's car. Xanthe asks Steph if Ben is still upset with her and she tells her that he is still dealing with the effects of the break-up. Xanthe goes on to blame the car for Ben wanting to leave, as it reminded him of his dad and a life in the family town of Oakey. Having taken out her frustrations on the car, Xanthe admits to Steph that the car isn't the reason for her and Ben's fractured relationship, admitting that she allowed her schoolwork to take priority over her relationship. Steph tries to assure Xanthe that the reason for the break up isn't her or Ben's fault, it's just a result of the two of them wanting different things and being unable to make a long-distance relationship work. She tries to cheer Xanthe up by telling her that they won't be in a long-distance relationship forever, and this line of conversation suddenly gives Xanthe a brainwave. She tells Steph that there may be another way to repair her relationship with Ben.

In the garden at no. 28, Karl tells Susan that he is worried about one of his patients in his medical trial, telling her that this patient has a blood clot that could be life-threatening. He tells her that he needs to speak to Clive to find out who this patient is, so that they can be informed about the results of the trial and seek medical consultation.

..

It's pouring with rain as Ben heads into his car on Ramsay Street. He glances over at no. 26 before getting in.

At no. 26, Xanthe surprises Sheila with a bombshell, telling her that she wants to move to Oakey and is already looking at school transfers. She admits to Sheila that she is feeling upset after her break-up with Ben and feels that this may be a way to make it work. Despite this Sheila gives Xanthe some tough love, telling her that even though it feels hard at the moment, breaking up with Ben may actually be the best solution for both of them as they are on different paths in life.

..

Over at Harold's, Dipi has got the wrong end of the stick and tells Shane that she is sure Kirsha is secretly seeing Jimmy, having misinterpreted the context of Kirsha's conversation with Jimmy on the phone. She then sees Toadie and Amy laughing about Jimmy's embarrassing moment with Poppy at the penthouse and assumes that they are talking about Jimmy and Kirsha. Shane asks Dipi if she is sure that Toadie and Kirsha were talking about Kirsha, and after once again misconstruing the context of the conversation, Dipi is adamant that Kirsha and Jimmy are now an item, leaving Shane upset.

At no. 32, Shane and Dipi have called a meeting with Amy regarding Kirsha and Jimmy in the garden. Amy is confused as to why they are involving themselves with her and Jimmy's business regarding Poppy at the penthouse, and eventually the truth comes out. Realising that she has made a massive mistake in accusing Jimmy of behaving inappropriately with Kirsha, Dipi is deeply embarrassed and tries to mumble an apology, as Shane admits that they have got their wires crossed.

..

Out on Ramsay Street, Karl and Susan are bringing boxes out to Ben's car as Karl receives a call from David. He tells David that he is unable to get hold of Clive and needs him to find the contact details for the patient from the medical trial, so that he can inform them about their potentially life-threatening condition. David has to leave for the hospital but promises Karl that he will try and find the information. Meanwhile Susan spots Kirsha outside no. 26 and goes over to her; she tells her that her guitar playing sounds really good and assures her that despite Ben leaving she is sure he will be happy to continue the lessons online.

A little later, Ben is preparing to say goodbye and is joined by Karl, Susan and Steph outside no. 28. He thanks Karl and Susan for everything they have done for him and thanks Steph for helping him with the car. Before he can leave, Yashvi rushes over to give him a hug, and to Ben's surprise Xanthe steps outside to see him off. They are still tearful from their break-up earlier and Ben asks Xanthe to promise that she won't go off with somebody else now that he is leaving. She promises him that she won't as they profess their love for each other. Ben goes back to the group and gives them farewell hugs before getting into his car and leaving Ramsay Street for Oakey. Xanthe is tearful as he leaves.

..

..

After Ben's departure, Susan and Karl are feeling melancholy at no. 28 as Shane pops over. He is still holding his injured hand and Karl suddenly becomes concerned, asking Shane how long his wrist has been hurting him. Shane is vague and says it's been hurting a while. As he leaves Karl starts leafing through his notes, worried that he is missing something.

..

A debrief is underway at Harold's as Jimmy explains his embarrassing situation with Amy to Poppy and Kirsha, wishing them luck with their own parents. As he goes to get a milkshake Poppy cuttingly tells Kirsha that being a third wheel is not a good look, intimating that she doesn't always need to hang around with her and Jimmy. She goes off to help Jimmy with the drinks as Jane comes over. Kirsha tells Jane that everything is changing with her friends, explaining that Jimmy now has a girlfriend and it's making for a different dynamic. Jane assures Kirsha that eventually she will embrace the changes that are happening in her life, as Dipi comes into the cafe. After the awkwardness of the meeting earlier, Kirsha quickly rushes off when her mum comes over. Seeing an opportunity in the making, Jane offers to tutor Kirsha at no. 32 for free, an offer which Dipi gratefully excepts, unaware of any ulterior motive in the suggestion.

..

Back on Ramsay Street, an anxious Karl tells Susan that Shane could be the mystery patient from the medical trial, and that post-surgical thrombosis in his wrist could be the cause of the blood clot, potentially causing a pulmonary embolism. As he rushes off to inform him, David comes over. He has information on the patient from the trial but Karl tells him that he thinks he knows who it is. However, David has other news, telling him that the patient is not Shane, it's him. Karl looks astounded at the revelation.
