Channel Eleven: 08/07/19, Channel 5: 08/07/19

Dee and Andrea meet on the cliff face as Andrea introduces herself... Andrea claims that she and Toadie are in love... Dee and Andrea argue as Dee tries to ring Heather... There is a scream as Dee topples over the edge of the cliff... A stunned Toadie tells Willow and Andrea that Dee is on her way from South Africa... An agitated Heather phones Andrea with Dee passed out on the bed... Andrea says that she is leaving for a while... Toadie opens the door to whom he presumes is Dee...

At no. 30, Toadie is tongue-tied as he struggles to think of something to say to the lady on his doorstep, who he thinks is his long-lost wife Dee. 'Dee' tells him that she is feeling the same, but Toadie wants to clarify if she really is his missing presumed dead first wife. She manages to evade this question by inviting herself in, telling Toadie that she had a good flight and is amazed that he still lives at no. 30. Noticing pictures of Nell and Hugo, 'Dee' tells him that she knew he would be a great father and then apologises for the strangeness of the situation. Still disbelieving of the sudden turn of events, Toadie asks 'Dee' how she can really be here, and she admits that she is struggling to comprehend the situation herself but has a lot to tell him.

..

At the motel in Byron Bay, Heather is attempting to get hold of Andrea on the phone, as Dee admits that she feels bad about Andrea not returning her calls. Heather confides that although Andrea regularly switches off her phone, she is probably doing this on purpose to stop her from interfering, although Heather is of the opinion that she needs her help. She goes on to explain that for Andrea and Toadie to make their relationship work they needed to clear up any loose ends regarding Dee, particularly as they have a son together. Dee understands Heather's predicament and tells her that she is a good mother, as Heather once again comments on the likeness between her and Andrea.

Back at no. 30, 'Dee' offers her condolences to Toadie for the loss of Sonya, admitting that from what he has told her Sonya sounded amazing. She feels as if Toadie has had to go through a lot of difficult things in his life, but Toadie contends that she has had too as well. 'Dee' tries to make some small talk about Toadie's career and home life, but he cuts her off and asks her to be honest with him about what happened to her after their wedding day seventeen years ago. Having been convinced that she was dead for all of the preceding years she was missing, Toadie is confused and angry as to why she didn't try and contact him once, asking her how she could put him through that. As 'Dee' tries to apologise for this, Toadie suggests that they go back to the start of the story so he can understand what happened. A worried 'Dee' realises that she will have to come up with a story and quickly covers herself by feigning tears, leaving Toadie convinced that the emotion of the reunion is becoming too much for her. He heads into the kitchen to make some tea as 'Dee' continues with the charade, convinced that her plan to snare Toadie is working.

..

Outside no. 28, Susan is watering the plants as Bea comes outside; they wonder how things are progressing at no. 30 with 'Dee' and Toadie. Considering her history with Dee, Bea thinks Susan should go over to no. 30 to see what is happening, but she doesn't think that this is such a good idea as Toadie wanted to see Dee himself and asked her to look after Nell and Hugo. Bea is incredulous that Dee has been out of Toadie's life for so long and Susan agrees that it has been an incredibly long time for their reunion. As they chat Sheila comes over to see what is happening, as Susan reiterates that they all need to give Toadie some space with Dee on his own. Bea heads back into no. 28 to check on Nell as Willow comes over; she is intent on seeing Dee, but Susan once again suggests that Toadie and Dee are given some space. Despite this Willow tells Susan that she only wants to see her for a short while, concerned about the things that Andrea has put her through. She asks Susan to accompany her over to no. 30.

Having had some tea, 'Dee' is feeling better and promises not to get too emotional every time Toadie wants her to talk about the past. She is then happily surprised by a knock at the door. Using the excuse of Susan and Willow's arrival as a reason not to have to continue delving into her fabricated past, 'Dee' greets them both with overly happy emotion, as Susan awkwardly hugs her in reply. An unhappy Toadie tells them that he and 'Dee' havenŐt had a chance to talk yet but Willow, although apologetic for the intrusion, admits that she wanted to know if this was really Dee. Willow can't get over the likeness between 'Dee' and Andrea and Toadie agrees that they look very similar. Seeing an opportunity to deflect attention from having to concoct a story about the past, 'Dee' asks Toadie if he can tell her more about Andrea's history and how she fits into the story. Toadie suggests that she sit down to listen as it's a very long story.

..

Meanwhile, back in Byron Bay at the motel, Heather admits that she is behaving rather abnormally for her and then gets flustered when there are no bottles in the fridge. To try and calm Heather's anxiety Dee offers to go to the shop for her, but Heather thinks that it is best that she stays where she is. Seeing an opportunity to manipulate the situation, Dee tells Heather that she wants to do something in return for her kindness and talks about how much she has done for her. She then goes on to use the terms 'mum' which stuns Heather, who tries to correct her by stating that she is not her mother. As Heather tries to back away from this conversation Dee continues to apply pressure on her, to the point where she gets down on her knees and apologises for not seeming to need Heather, insisting that she needs her more than ever. Becoming confused by this strange turn of events, Heather starts to wonder if it is Dee or Andrea with her in the room, as Dee's machinations continue. Dee insists that they need to stop 'Dee' in her tracks by going after her, but Heather doesn't think this is right as Dee is in the room with her. Addled with the drinks that Dee is plying her with, Heather becomes convinced that it is Andrea in the room with her, and that they need to head to Erinsborough to stop Dee in her tracks.

At no. 30, 'Dee' is sitting at the table with Toadie whilst Susan and Willow sit on the sofa; 'Dee' is stunned at all the things that Andrea has done and tries to feign astonishment at the events that have unfolded. Certain that Toadie feels a certain amount of contempt against Andrea, 'Dee' is surprised when Toadie admits that he feels sorry for Andrea and is now trying to focus more of his attention on Hugo, Nell and Willow. As 'Dee' continues to offer comfort, Toadie beckons Susan over, who wants answers as to where she has been all these years and why she disappeared. Using another stalling tactic, 'Dee' informs Toadie that that she needs some air and some time on her own, so heads outside. As she leaves Susan asks Toadie if he is okay, but he is still unconvinced as to whether this is actually his missing ex-wife as she hasn't divulged any information about her past. He asks Willow if she has heard from Andrea but she tells him that she hasn't.

..

Out on Ramsay Street, 'Dee' is getting some fresh air and sends a fictitious text to Willow telling her that she has arrived safely. As she does so she observes that she is being watched by someone in a car. She glances across and sees that the person watching her is Ian, and, not looking particularly happy to see him, strolls over to ask him why he is in Erinsborough. He tells her that he has got the clothes that she requested, and the fake ID is nearly ready, but 'Dee' quickly sends him off as he tries to probe deeper into what is unfolding at no. 30. Ian is unhappy and tells 'Dee' that she was the one who called him and asked him to lie for her again, but she won't tell him why. He hopes that she is not planning on becoming Dee Bliss forever as that would leave him in a difficult situation, but 'Dee' tells him that he is with Heather and they are not romantically involved. As she tries to extricate herself from Ian, Toadie comes outside, wondering if 'Dee' is okay. She lies to Toadie by telling him that she has an Uber booked, which leaves Toadie surprised that she is leaving so soon. 'Dee' admits that she needs to go to her hotel and promises that she hasn't travelled this far to leave again, jumping into the car and telling Ian to drive.

Over at Lassiters, Shane and Dipi are talking at a table outside Harold's; Shane admits that it is difficult not to be overwhelmed by what is unfolding with Toadie and Dee, and Dipi agrees. He thinks that it is good that Andrea has gone away for a while as Mark joins their table, informing them that he has no further updates on the situation and still needs to talk to 'Dee' about events. Both Kyle and Willow join the conversation; Kyle thinks that there is a lot going on whilst Willow is confused, admitting that having seen and spoken to 'Dee' she doesn't know what to think anymore.

..

Having been surprised by 'Dee's' sudden departure, Toadie is sitting and waiting at no. 30 for her return, but then decides to look at a photo album. He concentrates on the pictures from their wedding day in 2003 and is then interrupted by a knock at the door; 'Dee' has returned. She apologises for her sudden departure and tells him that she fell asleep, as Toadie admits that he didn't think that she was coming back. He is suspicious that 'Dee' may have a family wondering where she is now, but 'Dee' corrects this assumption, admitting that she had married again but that was a long time ago and she is now single. She confesses that it was a mistake for her to think she could escape the past by running off to South Africa, and after all the obfuscation from earlier informs Toadie that she is ready to give him the answers that he needs.

Overhead there is a plane flying through the clouds.

..

A little later, Heather and Dee, having travelled from Byron Bay, arrive on Ramsay Street. They get out of the car and Dee smiles as she looks around at the familiar surroundings. She heads over to no. 30 as a concerned Heather questions whether this is the best idea, worried that someone could spot them. Dee suggests that Heather waits for her on the street, and Heather does as she is told. As she waits for Dee, Heather is alarmed to see Mark walking across the street; she attempts to make her escape before desperately calling out to Andrea. She is unable to evade Mark who quickly catches her, telling Heather that she is under arrest for the murder of Sonya Rebecchi.

At no. 30 'Dee' is attempting to cobble together a story about what happened after she got out of the water when the car crashed, but Toadie is still struggling to understand the course of events as they unfolded despite this retelling. Realising that Toadie isn't truly buying into her story, 'Dee' is grateful to hear a knock at the door. This relief is quickly swallowed as she is astonished to see that Dee, who she presumed had died during the fight on the cliff, has turned up at no. 30. Her astonishment is mirrored by that of Toadie, who is unable to comprehend that there are two women in his house who look exactly like his presumed dead ex-wife.

..

On Ramsay Street, Mark is ringing for backup as Heather continues to call for Andrea. Mark tells her that it's over and to stop calling for her daughter. As Mark continues to wait with Heather for back-up, Willow, Dipi and Shane walk up the street, looking concerned at the scene before them. Heather is relieved to see Willow and calls out to her, hoping that she will save her, but Willow tells Heather that Andrea has gone away. A confused Heather tries to explain that Andrea is inside number 30 with Toadie and Dee and orders Willow to go over to try and fix things.

Back at no. 30, Toadie's mind is completely blown; he thinks that it is Andrea who has just arrived but Dee insists that she is not Andrea, she is his missing presumed dead ex-wife Dee. Despite her pleading, Dee is unable to explain herself fully as 'Dee' insists that she is lying. Dee goes on to tell Toadie that she should not trust this woman as she attempted to kill her at Byron Bay, and that Heather is just outside. Unable to comprehend anything that is being explained to him, Toadie tries to find reason by asking both 'Dee' and Dee what is happening. The three of them are interrupted as Willow comes into no. 30, shocked to be confronted with two women who look like her mother. As 'Dee' continues her defensive stance Willow informs them that Mark has arrested Heather outside. Dee continues to plead that she is the real Dee, insisting that 'Dee' found her in Byron Bay and pushed her off a cliff, but she was saved by Heather. Both Willow and Toadie are unable to tell who the real Dee is, and as such Dee and 'Dee' start competing as to who has the most complete knowledge of their history with Toadie. As they start relaying vital facts from their relationship history it is a final, incredibly heartfelt piece of information that Dee gives Toadie that triggers something in him, the words 'Kiss Me Wife' which he spoke to her just before the car went over the cliff, something that 'Dee' is unable to recite from the information she has garnered. To add to this, Dee then shows Toadie the scar on the left side of her neck from where the seatbelt cut into her before the car hit the water, and Toadie, having finally found the clarity he was looking for, realises that this is the real Dee and that the other 'Dee' must be Andrea in disguise. Realising that she has been rumbled, Andrea rushes into the kitchen but Willow grabs hold of her and throws her to the ground, as an astonished Toadie looks on. He is disbelieving at the depths of deceit and web of lies Andrea has spun to keep him from learning the truth.

..

With her duplicitous behaviour finally uncovered, Andrea is out on Ramsay Street, claiming to the police officers that she thinks that Willow has broken her wrist and that she needs to go to the hospital. She hears Heather calling out to her but is clearly unhappy with her mother for ruining her grand plans, despite Heather informing her that she was convinced Dee was Andrea. Willow meanwhile tells Andrea that she should have known she was up to something else, her claims that she was going away for a while just a cover so that she could pretend to be Dee. In defence of her actions Andrea claims that she didn't plan all this; she blames it on Heather for finding Dee and forcing her hand. She admits that she thought that she had a real chance with Toadie and so tricked him into thinking she was Dee. An angry Shane chimes in and tells Andrea that Toadie will never love her, but Andrea is aware of his love for Dee, hence the last act of desperation. As Andrea talks about how she gave Toadie a son, Hugo, the police put her and Heather into separate police cars and drive them away, a stricken Heather continuing to call out to her daughter.

..

..

As events die down on Ramsay Street, back at no. 30, Toadie is still stunned as he observes Mark talking to Dee. He asks her to confirm that her name is Dee Bliss and she does, although she admits that it has been a long time since she has been known by that name. Dee confirms that she met Andrea and Heather for the first time in Byron Bay and has never lived overseas but up on the coast. Although she had a fall, she states that she doesn't need medical attention for her wrist as she is a nurse, but Mark suggests that they go down to the station so that they can discuss things further. Dee agrees to answer the questions required and make an official statement, but feels that she needs to talk to Toadie first before they do this. Realising the gravity of the situation Mark agrees to head off, leaving Toadie and Dee alone at no. 30. A short period of silence ensues whilst Toadie gathers his thoughts. He asks Dee after all the confusion and second guessing whether this time it is really her, and she tells him that it is. She informs Toadie that they have a lot to talk about.
