Karl is curious as to why Paul's two ex-wives have arrived just before his wedding... Gail cautions Terese that she will turn out just like all of Paul's
ex-wives... Lyn warns Terese about marrying Paul... Paul is adamant that his wedding to Terese will proceed as normal... Lyn considers whether Paul's luck
is about to run out... Susan offers Elly some advice on how to deal with Chloe... Chloe is anxious about how quickly Elly has reverted back into friendship
mode... Pierce tells Elly that she is making it impossible for Chloe to move on, before Elly trips and falls over...
At the Lassiters Complex, despite her fall, Elly tells Pierce that she is fine. Seeing that she is in a lot of pain, Pierce decides to call for an ambulance.
..

After rushing her to the hospital, Pierce debriefs to Chloe about Elly's fall outside Harold's, just as Karl and Susan come out of her room. Karl explains
that Elly's unborn baby is stable for now, but Elly will need to undergo scans, so they won't know the full results yet. They are grateful for Pierce's
intervention as Susan confirms that Bea is aware of what happened.
The next day, at the Community Centre, Terese and Paul are supporting a new initiative for Sonya's foundation, by donating old staff uniforms from the
hotel for a clothing drive. Their happy mood quickly dissipates as they spot a familiar face at the Community Centre, another of Paul's ex wives in the
form of Rebecca Napier.
..

..

Back at the hospital, Susan and Chloe are grateful to hear from Karl that everything is positive regarding Elly's condition, although he mentions that they
will need to keep her in the hospital for a little longer for observation. Despite Karl and Susan's reservations, Chloe insists that she should be the one
to keep Elly company, at least for the morning that she has off from work. After his quick thinking the previous day, Pierce arrives with a bouquet of flowers
for Elly but soon departs after hearing that she is okay.
After the shock of seeing Rebecca at the Community Centre, it is revealed that she is in town to talk to Toadie about a partnership with the women's shelter
that she runs. As if on cue, Toadie arrives and greets Rebecca, explaining to Paul and Terese that their partnership is just in the early discussion phase,
although Paul isn't impressed that he wasn't informed of this. Rebecca cuttingly tells Paul that he wouldn't need to know of her arrival, and this prompts
Paul to fall silent. As she and Toadie move away to have their meeting, Terese warns Paul that he needs to stay calm, but he is adamant that Rebecca is
hiding the real reason why she is back in Erinsborough. He is sure that three of his ex-wives returning at the same time cannot be mere coincidence, and
devises a plan to quiz Gail to find out more about what's going on. Although Terese agrees to let Paul implement his plan to prove that there is nothing
to this, she warns him to play nice.
..

A short while later, Paul heads straight over to Harold's when he spots Gail, asking her for the real reason she is back in town. She tells him that he
needs to calm down and then reiterates that she is simply in town to visit Harlow. Paul thinks that this is just an excuse for making trouble with him and
Terese before the wedding and mentions that three ex-wives arriving in town at the same time cannot be by chance. Despite this, Gail assures Paul that all
three of his ex-wives have a legitimate reason for being back in town and suggests that he is letting his paranoia get the better of him. Although she agrees
that the timing is a bit odd, she indicates that this might be the universe trying to tell him something.
At the Community Centre, Terese waits for Rebecca's meeting to finish and then goes over to her, apologising for Paul's behaviour earlier. She suggests that
Paul is suffering from pre-wedding nerves, and this surprises Rebecca, who didn't know that they were getting married. Rebecca is also ignorant of the
situation of the other ex-wives returning at the same time as her, informing Terese that she has never met Gail and wishes she had never met Lyn! She
comments on how difficult it must be for Paul having his ex-wives in town right before the wedding, and Terese, suddenly lost for words, simply plasters
a smile on her face in response.
..

Rebecca goes over to Harold's where she bumps into Karl and Susan, who are surprised to see her back in Erinsborough. After some hugs Rebecca admits that
it feels a bit surreal to be back in town, before filling them in on how Declan and India are doing. She tells them that the partnership with Toadie and
the foundation has brought her back to town, but she admits that she has found out about Lyn and Gail returning at the same time as her. Karl suggests that
Paul being haunted by Lyn, Gail and Rebecca is some kind of karma, but Rebecca jokes that she wasn't the one to instigate it.
Having unsuccessfully tried to implement his plan with Gail, Paul is at the Waterhole lamenting his situation with Terese, who seems faintly amused about
the whole thing. She assures Paul that he is not out of his mind but that he needs to stop jumping to the worst case scenarios, suggesting that the
motivations for the ex-wives returning may be genuine. In the case of Rebecca, Terese doesn't believe that she would purposely mislead Toadie just to
get back at Paul, and then tries to stop his worries by assuring him that she still wants to be his wife despite everything. Paul seems heartened by her
words, telling Terese that he doesn't deserve her.
..

At the hospital, Chloe is surprised to see Pierce return; he explains that he wanted to make sure that Elly hasn't had any complications with the baby.
She is intrigued by his furtiveness and Pierce reveals that he had an argument with Elly, before the accident, concerning Chloe. Unhappy that Pierce and
Elly were talking about her, Chloe orders Pierce to leave the hospital, telling him that his behaviour is unbelievable.
A little later, Chloe lets herself into Elly's room and relays the conversation she had with Pierce, apologising for his behaviour. Despite this, Elly
is interested to know if she has been too clingy with Chloe, and Chloe's awkward silence answers the question for her. Chloe informs Elly that they will
always be good friends, and she will always be there for her, but she needs to get over her somehow and, without explicitly asking, suggests to Elly that
giving her some space would be a good start to try and help her move forward with her life.
..

Rebecca is at Harold's again, as Gail enters; she tentatively walks over to her table and asks Rebecca if she is indeed the same Rebecca that is another
of Paul's ex-wives. Having confirmed that she is, Rebecca shakes Gail's hand and comments on how their paths would eventually cross. They talk about the
fact that Lyn is in town as well, as Gail jokes that they are having some kind of convention. Gail mentions how strange it feels to be back in Erinsborough
as Rebecca admits that for her it brings back a lot of unwelcome memories, although she is reluctant to discuss these. As Gail persists in swapping war
stories Rebecca suddenly becomes uncomfortable, rushing out of Harold's as Gail starts talking about returning to the place where some of the worst memories
of her life occurred.
After their argument at the hospital, Pierce is at no. 32, apologising to Chloe for what he said to Elly, admitting that he overstepped the mark. Chloe
agrees that his behaviour was uncalled for, telling Pierce that he just charged in as if she couldn't deal with things, rather than giving advice like a
normal friend would. She suggests to Pierce that he wants to always try and fix things, but he counters this by saying he was doing it to try and defend
her. Confused as to why she would need defending, Chloe asks Pierce what his motivations are as she doesn't need his help. After a short silence, Pierce
admits that his need to defend Chloe is because he is in love with her. Stunned by this revelation, Chloe doesn't know what to say and rushes out of the
kitchen.
..

At Lassiters, Paul is looking contemplative as Karl comes over. He jokes that he would offer a penny for his thoughts but is certain that Paul's mind is
focused on his ever-expanding list of returning ex-wives. An unhappy Paul asks Karl how he would feel if Izzy Hoyland or Sarah Beaumont returned to town,
and Karl tones down the jokes by suggesting that this may be the universe trying to tell him something. Paul tells Karl that he is the second person today
who has told him that, but Karl tries to soften the blow by admitting that this is a meaningless turn of phrase. As they chat, Karl and Paul glance up at
the terrace and notice Rebecca standing there. She is looking over the edge with a concerned expression on her face.
Up on the terrace, Rebecca is in tears as she remembers pushing Paul, and is unaware of him approaching, until he surprises her by asking if the scene of
his fall is the reason for her return to Erinsborough. He suggests that her motivation was to lure him to the scene of the crime to warn him off from
marrying Terese, but he tells her to save her breath as he has heard it already from Lyn and Gail. Surprisingly Rebecca doesn't do this and instead starts
apologising profusely to Paul, who is taken aback by her response.
..

Meanwhile, at the hotel, Terese can see that Rebecca and Paul are talking on the terrace via the CCTV.
Back on the terrace, Rebecca admits that she hated Paul for what he did to her, but ever since the incident on the balcony she has hated herself more.
Confused by this admission, Paul asks Rebecca why she is bringing this back up, and Rebecca tearfully explains that just one day in Erinsborough has brought
back a flood of memories for her. She admits that she is angry with herself for letting Paul turn her into something that she never was, but Paul is not
interested in replaying old arguments and asks her quite abruptly what she wants. Rebecca reveals that she wants to get over this feeling of guilt that she
holds, but feels like she will never be able to.
..

As they chat, Terese continues to watch the CCTV footage at the hotel, curious and upset that Paul has gone over to comfort his ex-wife.
At no. 24, Chloe needs Mark's help regarding the situation with Pierce. She feels confused by Pierce's declaration of love, feeling that he had the chance
a few months ago to be in love with her but at that time told her he wasn't ready. Blindsided by Pierce, Chloe admits that being friends with him was nice
but now she feels that he has blown it. Mark asks Chloe if she likes Pierce and she admits that she isn't sure, revealing that she may have been in love with
him this whole time. Not wanting to rush into things too quickly, she asks Mark if he can help her see sense, but he questions whether waiting will change how
she feels. Chloe is surprised by MarkÕs proactive response to her dilemma, and he reveals that he has spent too long in his life taking the predictable road,
finally coming to the realisation that taking the safe path is not all it's cracked up to be. This declaration leaves Chloe looking thoughtful at what to do
next.
..

In the hotel foyer, Terese looks unhappy as Paul and Rebecca come back downstairs from the terrace. She demands to know what is going on, revealing that she
has been watching them on the CCTV feed and is adamant they explain the situation to her. Paul tries to quell Terese's upset, but Rebecca suggests that they
tell Terese the truth rather than continuing to hide things from her. This leaves Terese looking even more concerned and she asks Paul to reveal exactly what
is going on.
