Written by Rene Zandveld, Directed by Laurence Wilson and Tony Gardiner ACS, Produced by Natalie Mandel and Natalie Lynch

10 Peach: 24/03/20, Channel 5: 24/03/20

Bea falls into the mineshaft on the island... Harlow comes to Bea's rescue but falls into the mineshaft after the ladder breaks... Finn throws a poisonous snake into the mineshaft and then fires an arrow into Gary's back... Paul finds Toadie lying unconscious on the beach... Elly stumbles across Gary's body... Finn demands that Elly hand over Aster to him... The island is set on fire... Finn informs Susan that Elly is still on the island, and they need to head to the Snowy Mountains to find Bea... Susan discovers Aster in the backseat of the car and realises that Bea is trapped on the island with Elly... Finn reveals that his memory has returned and becomes angry when he senses Susan turning on him... Finn starts digging a hole outside the cabin...

In the cabin, Aster is screaming as Susan lies prone on the floor, whilst Finn continues to dig the hole outside the cabin. The hole starts filling with water as he keeps digging.

..

A short while later, Susan is astounded and relieved as she sees Elly enter the cabin. As her niece firstly goes to check on Aster, she then proceeds to untie Susan from the toppled chair.

..

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Karl is leaving a voicemail for Susan, pleading with her to contact him. As he does so David arrives to report for duty, having heard about what happened on the island. Although Karl isn't sure about David working, he reluctantly agrees for him to assist with the injured, who are starting to arrive having been airlifted to the hospital. After her ordeal in the mineshaft an unconscious Harlow arrives at the hospital with Hendrix and Roxy accompanying her; Hendrix mentions the snakebite that Harlow has suffered, and Karl immediately sends her off to a treatment room. Also arriving at the hospital are Paul and Toadie; David is relieved to see his father in one piece, but Paul's concern is focused on Harlow. Karl tells Paul that Harlow is in a medically induced coma to aid her recovery, as the venom has been in her system for a while. He heads off to help the other injured without answering Paul's question as to whether Harlow will be okay, spotting Bea nearby. After giving staff instructions for Bea's treatment, he asks her what happened on the island, and Bea quite succinctly gives him a one-word reply, 'Finn'.

Having been untied by Elly at the cabin, Susan goes to help her get Aster ready so that they can make their escape. Susan is curious as to how Elly found her, and Elly mentions that she found the address of the cabin in Finn's bag. Realising that time is short, Susan emphasises the need to get away before Finn comes back inside.

..

Out in the bush, Finn climbs out of the hole he has dug but loses his footing as he slips on the muddy ground. He falls backwards into the hole and hits his head on one of the rocks, knocking him unconscious. Water keeps flowing into the hole as Finn lies inside his watery grave.

As the ladies continue their preparations to leave the cabin the water has covered Finn's body and only his face is visible. He regains consciousness but is unable to move his limbs, becoming alarmed at his precarious situation.

..

..

Finn begins to shout for help and Elly and Susan both hear his plaintive cries. Rather than return and help the stricken Finn, they instead decide to keep moving. Only Finn's eyes, nose and mouth remain above the waterline as the water continues to cover his whole body.

A tired and weary Kyle trudges into no. 26, looking forlorn at events on the island. Unaware of the tragic events that have occurred, Sheila scolds Kyle for making a mess of her newly cleaned carpet with his shoes. A dazed Kyle ignores her fussing and instead mumbles about 'not being able to look for him'. As Sheila inquiries as to what Kyle means, her grandson struggles to hold it together and informs Sheila that he tried his best before apologising and breaking down. Sheila is confused and tells Kyle that he isn't making much sense, before asking him where Gary is. The distraught nature of Kyle's sobbing paints its own picture as Sheila realises that something is desperately wrong.

..

Back in the bush, Susan and Elly run to Elly's car, as Susan tries to piece together recent events. She mentions to Elly that Finn told her that he had hurt people on the island despite everyone being okay. Considering Gary's fate, Elly doesn't respond to Susan's question and instead puts her daughter securely into the back of the car before ordering Susan to do the same. She asks Susan to lock all the doors and call the police before rushing off, telling her that she will head back to the cabin to ensure that Finn doesn't hurt anybody ever again. Susan is incredulous that Elly would return to the scene of their escape, but Elly reiterates that she must do whatever it takes to remove Finn from their lives for good and heads off.

A short while later Elly finds the hole that Finn has dug and turns the water off at source. She carefully walks around the hole before peering into it for a few minutes, surprised to see Finn's head suddenly come up to the surface. Elly gets into the hole and pulls Finn's head clear of the water, attempting to check for a pulse. Realising that there isn't one, she lowers Finn's head once again before moving to the far end of the hole, as far away from her tormentor as she can get.

..

Unable to control her emotions, Elly starts relaying the pain and hurt Finn has inflicted upon her and others, telling the unconscious Finn:
"I will never forgive you for what you've done to me and my family, to Gary. I hope you suffered. I hope you knew exactly what was happening to you and I hope the last thing you thought about was how much I hate you!"
With this bit of catharsis out of the way Elly climbs out of the hole and picks up the shovel, starting to fill the hole in with the dirt that Finn dug out. Before she can get too far with her work, she notices two police officers walking towards her and stops what she is doing.

At the police station, Mark hugs his sister, happy to see that she and Pierce are okay after the ordeal on the island. As the pair sit down, they begin to relay to Mark what happened, telling him that they were in a tent with Kyle, Roxy and Hendrix waiting for the SES to arrive in the search for Harlow. She mentions that everyone was talking about Finn and his behaviour and not long after that they started to smell smoke.

..

In the waiting area at the hospital, Paul is explaining to David that his intentions in going to the island were purely in bringing Harlow safely back, having been annoyed that she'd decided to run off with Hendrix. He recalls that it was on his way to the jetty that he found a badly injured Toadie lying on the sand, and, worried about what Finn could do next, flagged down a passing car. Unfortunately for he and Toadie the driver of the car was none other than Harry, who pointed a gun at them both.

Meanwhile, Harry is at the police station being interviewed by Mark, who is keen to know where he acquired a gun having only been recently paroled. Harry confesses that it was in Finn's storage unit and goes on to confirm that he was at the jetty as he had not seen Finn all day and had become concerned. He indicates that he was going to pick up Finn so that they could go to the cabin together, informing a confused Mark that this was going to be their new home. This was at the time in which Paul and Toadie waved him down seeking help, with Toadie not only informing Harry about what Finn had done on the island but also Finn's true intentions, indicating that he was still in love with Elly and his feelings for Harry were fabricated.

..

..

Although hurt by Toadie's comments, Harry admits that what he was telling him seemed to have a ring of truth to it. He tells Mark that Finn probably pushed Bea into the mineshaft as she had realised that his memory had returned, berating himself for not following his initial instincts about Finn and staying away. Upset with his acceptance of Finn despite his own misgivings, Harry admits that he has been a fool and then recalls earlier events with Paul and Toadie. Harry indicates that he tried to persuade them that he could save Finn from himself as they were good together, but Paul was adamant that Harry had served his purpose and was being used by Finn. He recalls that it was at this moment that the three of them saw the island ablaze.

At the hospital, Toadie is relaying to Shane about seeing the terrible fire on the island and begging Harry to take he and Paul to the jetty. Paul picks up the story and tells David that having made Harry see sense about Finn's true intentions, he took them to the jetty. On arrival they saw Pierce's boat but there was no sign of Finn. Harry continues the story by informing Mark that he couldn't kid himself any longer about Finn's true intentions, finally coming to the realisation that he had left people to die on the island. Having come to that conclusion, Harry directed Paul and Toadie to the location of the campsite and mineshaft as he got them into a boat, before calling the emergency services. Despite the danger of the fire on the island, Paul admits that he had no hesitation in taking a boat there, knowing that not only was Bea trapped in a mineshaft, but Harlow was in danger also.

..

Chloe continues the story by stating that the fire got so intense they had to abandon their tents and head to the beach. Concerned that the SES hadn't yet arrived, Pierce picks up the story by mentioning that they wanted to go and search for Gary and Harlow and that was when Paul arrived by boat. It was here that Paul informed the group of Toadie's severe injuries, and that Bea was trapped in a mineshaft, which Chloe admits didn't make much sense. Worried about Harlow, Hendrix immediately wanted to head off to rescue her, but Pierce stopped him by telling him that they should work as a team. He instructed Hendrix and Chloe to get to the boat whilst he and the others would go off to find Harlow and Bea. After a short while Pierce, Kyle, Paul and Roxy reached the mineshaft, surprised to hear Elly screaming from inside and mentioning that she was stuck inside with Bea and Harlow. It was at this point that Kyle asked them where his dad was.

Back in the present, at no. 26, a distraught Kyle informs Sheila that it was too late to save Gary, and he died of his injuries.

..

Returning to events on the island, at the hospital Paul tells David that the fire on the island was getting worse, and they all decided the safest thing to do would be to get into the mineshaft. It becomes apparent that Kyle wasn't happy with this decision and wanted to continue searching for Gary, however Paul bluntly reminded him that Sheila would not want to lose two people to such a tragedy. Realising that Paul was right, and despite feeling inconsolable at his father's probable death, Kyle relented and joined the others in the mineshaft to await rescue. With Paul attending to a barely conscious Harlow, it was at this point that Pierce asked Elly where Aster was, to be told by a stricken Elly that Finn had taken her.

At the police station, Pierce continues the story and describes the fire that ripped through the island in no more than 10 minutes. Meanwhile Chloe explains that she and Hendrix managed to tell the rescue workers where their trapped friends were, and eventually they were all helicoptered away from the scene apart from Elly. Mark is confused as to why Elly wasn't on the rescue helicopter and Pierce explains that she wanted to go with him and Chloe to get her car but by the time they got to the mainland it had gone, presumably as Finn took it. Before he could stop her, Pierce explains that Elly took his car keys and jumped in his car before driving off. He also reveals that the reason why Elly hasn't been answering her phone is because he had it, and that it had run out of battery. Chloe contends that Elly's actions in procuring Pierce's car are understandable considering that not only did she see Gary's dead body, but her daughter was missing. It is at this point that Mark asks Chloe and Pierce if Elly knows how Gary died.

..

..

Back at no. 26, a tearful Sheila is hopeful that Elly is mistaken and that in her panic it wasn't Gary's dead body she saw. Despite her attempts at denial Kyle insists that Elly wasn't mistaken and confirms to Sheila that Gary isn't coming home. He joins Sheila on the sofa to try and console her as they mourn their loss.

At the hospital, Bea is conscious after her operation as Karl tries to remind her that what happened was in no way her fault. Shortly afterwards Elly, Aster and Susan enter the room to the relief of Karl and Bea, although Bea is curious as to what happened to Finn. After seeking permission from Susan, Elly confirms to Bea that Finn is dead. She quickly assures a shocked Bea that he will never be able to hurt her again. As the sisters cry in a mixture of anguish and relief that they are alive, Karl tends to Susan, who is feeling slightly fragile after the shocking events.

..

..

Having received word from Karl, at the police station Mark confirms to Pierce and Chloe that Elly and Aster are safe, although he mentions that Susan's MS has flared up due to the stress of the situation. He also confirms the news that Finn is dead but is unable to go into any further details due to it still being an active investigation. Instead, Mark tells them that the fire was caused by an accelerant, leaving Chloe shocked that Finn left them all to die on the island.

At no. 26 Kyle makes the call to his sister about Gary's death at the hands of Finn.

..

With Harlow being comforted at her hospital bedside by friends and family, Paul confirms to Roxy that Terese is out looking for Prue. David arrives with an update on Harlow's condition; he confirms that the toxicology report isn't very positive and therefore Harlow will need to remain in an induced coma until her body shows signs of being able to fight the venom. He admits to an upset Hendrix that he doesn't know if Harlow will recover fully, which leads Hendrix to become angry. Unhappy with Hendrix's demeanour, Paul indicates that he would like him to leave but Pierce arrives to try and make his son calm down and leave Harlow's side. Realising that this is not an appropriate place to fight with Paul and his father, Hendrix takes one last look at the unconscious Harlow before leaving.

..

Meanwhile, in Bea's room, the sisters apologise to each other for getting themselves dragged into Finn's destructive world. They are concerned at how they managed to get drawn into Finn's tangled web and seemingly missed the signs, but Elly tries to assure Bea that things are not as black and white as they seem, especially with the benefit of hindsight. Karl arrives to inform Bea and Elly that Susan is fine, but exhaustion has gotten the better of her, so he's admitted her into the hospital overnight to rest. As Karl tries to assure his nieces that they are safe now, Mark arrives, asking Elly if she could come over to the station to provide a formal statement over how she found Finn. This concerns Elly and she tries to tell Mark that she has told the police everything she knows, but Mark isn't budging and insists that she come to the station as he needs to clear up some discrepancies in her story, explaining that with any suspicious death it is important to establish a clear sequence of events. Elly becomes even more worried and asks Mark if he believes she killed Finn.
