Nicolette and Wendy plan the school protest, with Nic insisting that Susan can't find out... Nicolette suggests that they contact Summer Hoyland for some
publicity... Mackenzie is annoyed by Holly's constant presence at no. 32... Haz tells Holly that he'll let her know when he wants to hang out with her...
David says that Erinsborough just reminds him that he isn't a doctor any more... Byron finds out that Conrad has died and that Reece wants it to be kept
from Krista... Krista tells David that when she sees her dad again, she wants him to know that she isn't just a screw up... Holly accidentally tells Krista
about her father's death... David finds that Krista is missing...
In the Lassiters foyer, Leo and Byron are chatting about Byron quitting his job, when Holly comes rushing up to them, apologising for letting Conrad's death
slip to Krista. Just then, David comes out of the lift and says that Krista isn't in her room. Holly apologises again and they all set off to look for her.
..
At no. 26, Wendy receives confirmation that Summer is going to cover the protest for her podcast. Nicolette is thrilled, but reminds Sadie not to say a word
to Holly - or anyone else, but tells Wendy that she's going to break the news to Jane later that night. She then tells Wendy to be careful not to say anything
to Andrew - Sadie says that her mum has been doing remarkably well at keeping it all a secret from him so far.
At the Waterhole, Jane and Terese are finishing up a meeting, with Terese explaining that she needs access to the school for soil tests. Susan and Toadie
watch their awkward exchange from the bar, as Terese assures a prickly Jane that she plans to preserve as much of the original school structure as possible.
Terese says that she'll be in touch and she goes to join Toadie at the bar, as Susan goes to sit with Jane. She says that the meeting seemed to go well, and
a deflated Jane says that there's no point in kicking or screaming now. Terese, meanwhile, is telling Toadie that it just feels sad that her friendship with
Jane has been affected so much. At their table, Susan is saying something similar, but admits that she hopes that the friendship can be repaired. Jane isn't
so sure, but adds that she doesn't begrudge Susan her friendship with Terese. Toadie reminds Terese that Jane is going to see Mike for Christmas, so hopefully
that will cheer her up and they can move past this when she gets back. Jane tells Susan that she should get going, thanking her for caring. Toadie looks over
at Susan, as Jane leaves, with neither of them sure whether the friendship can be salvaged.
..
David is at Lassiters lake, shining a torch around and calling out Krista's name.
At no. 24, Jane arrives back and Nicolette immediately asks how the meeting went with Terese. Jane says that she was co-operative, but didn't have the
energy for anything else. Nic suggests that looking at the Save Erinsborough High page online might cheer her up, but Jane says that she deleted it a week
ago, as it was becoming too painful. She says that it was becoming too much of an emotional rollercoaster, so she's accepting the school's fate and letting
it go now. Nicolette wonders how she'd feel if a miracle did occur, but Jane is distracted by a note in her bag, reminding her that she was fifty cents short
for her coffee earlier and she needs to drop it in with Haz. Nicolette realises that her mum is the most honest person ever - Jane replies that a person is
only ever as good as their word, something that she and her nan agreed on. Jane smiles as Sam hands her a fifty cent coin, then takes Mike's letter that's
arrived in the post and goes to read it, saying that this is where she wants to focus her energy now. Once she's gone, Nicolette texts Wendy to say that she
can't tell her mum about the protest.
..
David is still out looking for Krista, and he gets a call from Leo. He insists that they can't stop searching as she can't be out on her own all night. He
then spots Krista sitting by a car and tells Leo that he'll call him back. He finds Krista about to use some drugs she's scored but tells her that she
doesn't have to go through with it. She wonders what the point is in staying clean now, as her dad's dead and he'll always know her as a screw up. David
tells her that nobody is defined by their lowest moment, though Krista says that's easy for him to say as he doesn't have her history. David insists that
he's had his own lowest point and he sits next to her and tells her about the medical manslaughter charge. He says that it cost him everything - his job,
his identity, at which point Krista says that they're both failures. David tells her that they're just people who have failed, but what really defines them
is the choices they make from moment to moment. He then asks her what she wants her next choice to be.
At Harolds, Holly is relieved that Krista has been found, feeling terrible for what she said to her. Haz insists that Holly was just trying to be a good
friend and nobody will hold that against her. He suggests that they meet for a drink once he's finished closing up the cafe, at which point she says that
she'll go and get some clothes for the morning. Haz pretends to be pleased as she says that another night with him is just what she needs. Once she's gone,
Haz tells Byron that he just meant a drink, not the whole night.
..
Leo and David accompany Krista back to her hotel room and she thanks David for finding her, saying that they're all being so nice to someone they barely
know. Leo then explains that they do have a connection - Paul Robinson is their father, and he was the one who covered up her supposed death. She looks
taken aback, and David quickly says that Leo had nothing to do with it, but he was part of the cover-up, though not willingly and he hates his dad for what
he did. He tells her how sorry he is, and says that he'll understand if she wants him to leave. Krista says that she understands difficult fathers, reminding
David of his own words - nobody is defined by their lowest moment. She goes to the bathroom to flush away the drugs she's still holding, then asks if David
could stay with her, as she doesn't trust herself to be alone.
The next morning, outside at no. 32, Byron has been telling Mackenzie about what happened to Krista, and she says that David sounds like a hero. Byron admits
that he feels like he failed Krista and says that he spoke to Reece, who sounded very tired and stressed. Haz joins them, and Mackenzie hands him the fifty
cent coin that Jane left in their letterbox. He says that he wishes all of his customers were that honest, then asks Byron if he wants a coffee. After
hearing that Holly is still around, he turns down the offer, and Haz realises that they're both having breakfast outside to avoid running into Holly. Byron
points out that she's eating their food and drinking their booze and she doesn't pay rent, so they have a right to say something. Mackenzie suggests that
Haz should try setting some boundaries with Holly, and be firm about it, something he doesn't look comfortable with.
..
At no. 24, Aaron is telling Jane and Nicolette about David staying with Krista, and an impressed Jane says that she'll make him a pancake brunch when he
gets back. Aaron tells her that she doesn't need to bribe David with food to get him to stay, though Jane says that she just enjoys cooking. Nicolette then
tells her mum that she's catching up with a friend and will be out all day, leaving Jane disappointed. As Nicolette checks with Sam that she's still happy
to look after Isla, Jane admits that she'd been hoping to spend some time together. Nicolette reminds her mum that she was the one who suggested she should
reconnect with Erinsborough, and she leaves.
At no. 22, Susan is having coffee with Terese, saying that she's sure that Terese and Jane will get past all of this, with time. Terese asks Susan how she
feels about Karl potentially working at Eirini Rising, and Susan admits that, whilst she was initially against the idea, now that Jane seems to have accepted
it, she'd be happy if Karl took the job. Terese then says that she's just sent Harold an information pack about the retirement home, and Susan admits that it
would be lovely to have him back living in the area, so maybe there will be some silver linings to the school's closure.
..
At no. 32, Haz is looking very happy about he's about to sample his new coffee, when Holly bounds in, full of plans for the day, and makes him jump, causing
him to spill it. As he looks irritated and goes to get a cloth, she tries some of the remaining coffee and spits it out, saying it's disgusting. Haz tells
her that it was a limited crop honey-processed blend from Papua New Guinea, but Holly is unimpressed and says that it's just coffee. Haz finally loses his
temper and tells her that it wasn't just coffee, it was special and she just took it without asking, like she took his fruit toast and his expensive shower
gel. He goes on to say that she's at the house all the time, and an upset Holly replies that he should have said something, before rushing out of the room.
At the hotel, Krista is having tea with Leo and David in her room, and she tells them that she spoke to Reece that morning. She says that it was sad and
difficult, and she doesn't know what's coming next with her family and the funeral. David points out that Krista might not be well enough to travel, but
Krista says that she has to try as she couldn't live with herself if she wasn't there to see her father laid to rest, though Leo is sure that Krista's father
would want her to focus on her recovery. David says that he's been put in touch with someone who runs a residential rehab, which could accept her immediately,
but she isn't keen on the idea. He then suggests that she could hire a sober companion to keep her on track, an idea that Krista prefers, and she asks David
if he would consider doing it, telling him that she feels safe with him and that Reece would pay him very well. As Leo adds that it sounds like a good idea,
David considers it.
..
At no. 32, Haz is outside with Trevor, as Mackenzie joins him, confirming that she heard some of the fight with Holly. He says that Mackenzie was right,
he should have set firmer boundaries, but instead he held it all in and then it came out in a really nasty way. Mackenzie asks him if he wants to keep seeing
Holly and he nods, so she tells him to just be honest with Holly, who will either agree to what he wants or she won't, but either way, they can work things
out without any further anger.
At no. 26, Nicolette is explaining to Wendy and Sadie that Jane deleted the Save Erinsborough High page, and was being moralistic about underpaying Haz by
fifty cents, so if she found out about the protest, she would definitely inform the police. They agree not to tell Jane, but Wendy is sure that when she does
find out, she'll see that their hearts were in the right place, whether they fail or succeed. Nicolette tells her that failure is not an option, explaining
that she wants to make it up to her mum for leaving Erinsborough so suddenly.
..
At no. 24, David is telling Aaron about the sober companion job, and how he's finally felt useful again by working with Krista over the past few days. He
admits that he was in denial about how hard he was finding life away from medicine. He says that he'd made a deal with Krista, that she goes into rehab and
then when she gets out, he'll take the job as her sober companion. Aaron, Jane and Sam are thrilled as they realise that this means they'll be staying in
Erinsborough.
Susan walks into Harolds, surprised to see Summer Hoyland standing at the counter. She asks what she's doing back in town, and Summer claims that it was
because of the barista, then says that she just wanted to catch up with Susan and Holly and hoped it would be a surprise. Susan doesn't look convinced, even
less so when she notices that Summer is wearing an old Erinsborough High blazer under her coat. She wants to know what's going on and Summer admits that she
was meant to keep it a secret, but she thinks that Susan might actually like the idea when she hears what's going on...
..
At no. 32, Haz has asked Holly to come and see him, and she arrives on the defensive, convinced that he's about to dump her. He says that he isn't, but he
felt that things just got too intense too quickly. He apologises for the way he spoke to her and she also apologises for crowding him, explaining that she
likes being around him and she though the feeling was mutual. He says that it is, but he tells her that he always needs time alone. She asks what he wants
from her and he says that he'd still like her to come over, just not quite as often, which would also allow him to miss her. She says that she can do that,
and they kiss.
..
At no. 26, Nicolette tells Wendy and Sadie that she's officially moving back to Erinsborough. They're delighted for her, but the celebrations are cut short
by Susan arriving at the door, shocked that they're planning a protest. Nicolette wants to know how she found out, then asks if she's told Jane yet. Susan
is surprised that neither Jane nor Andrew have found out about it, but she doesn't think it's going to make any difference as the decision has already been
made and the land has been sold. Nicolette insists that these decisions can be reversed and begs Susan not to tell anyone...
