John Allen had received custody of his biological daughter Lolly Carpenter, partially on the basis of his wife Sandy’s infertility, but sometime later, the couple tried IVF treatment which resulted in the births of Braiden and Keisha. Sandy loved her own children but resented Lolly as she reminded her of John’s affair with Cheryl Stark. Sadly these feelings resulted in years of hidden abuse which even John was oblivious to, but when the truth was revealed in 2007, the Allens split and Sandy lost access to her children.
