After realising that he was ready to move on, after separating from wife Susan, Karl Kennedy joined a dating website, and soon found his profile being "improved" by lodger Tash. Tash played up Karl's work as a doctor and his hobby as a musician in a band, and the profile caught the attention of Olivia Bell, who agreed to meet him for a drink. As Tash continued her attempts to get Karl a girlfriend, pretending to bump into him at the bar and asked for a photo, claiming that her mum was a huge fan of Karl's band, The Right Prescription, Olivia was slightly overwhelmed and admitted to Karl that she'd exaggerated on her own profile, and although she was a published author, she'd actually self-published and had only sold 15 copies. As Tash continued to pester Karl for autographs, he finally owned up and explained what she was up to. Olivia was amused enough to ask Karl out again and, a week later, he decided to agree to another date, going completely over-the-top and creating a seven-course tasting menu - with matching wines - as Olivia had mentioned being a fan of chef Heston Blumenthal. When she arrived at his place, Olivia was a little taken aback by all the trouble he'd gone to, and things only got worse, to the point where she told him that he'd gone too far and she didn't want to see him for a third time.
