When Maggie Hancock and Toadie Rebecchi start their articles at small law firm Keith Cox & Associates, Maggie quickly noticed that Toadie was distracted by his feelings for someone. Unable to tell Maggie that it was her, Toadie let her believe that he had a crush on Meredith, the girl who delivered their sandwiches. When cranky Meredith arrived with their lunch, Maggie quickly left her alone with Toadie, who later reported that he was going to ask Meredith out, but realised that she was too difficult to read, so gave up on her.
