Gerry Butler 1986

A school friend of Warren Murphy, Gerry invited Warren to a party at his house, and Warren brought along his friend, Charlene Mitchell, who was enjoying some freedom with her mother away on a business course in Adelaide. Gerry encouraged Warren’s spiralling alcohol problem, but mentioned to Sue Parker that Warren’s behaviour when drinking was becoming more and more unpredictable. When Gerry mentioned to Sue that Charlene’s boyfriend, Scott Robinson, should have been more careful than to allow her out with Warren, it gave evil Sue an idea, and she phoned Scott to tell him how much Charlene and Warren were enjoying each other’s company. The plan worked and, unable to control his jealousy, Scott split up with Charlene a few days later.
