After arriving in Erinsborough with plans to open a bar - as a cover for smuggling in diamonds from South America - Dakota Davies was planning her latest shipment, using her barman Daniel Robinson to receive the delivery of coffee beans, which had the diamonds hidden inside. With the police closing in, Matt Turner could see what was about to happen, and arrested Daniel for jaywalking, as an excuse to get him away from the bar when the shipment arrived. Dakota then told Justin, her accomplice, that the delivery would have to be delayed as there'd be nobody there to sign for it, but Justin said that it was still going ahead, and she'd have to sort it out. As Justin waited outside the bar, with the police watching from nearby, Dakota finally learnt that Mark Brennan, who she'd been growing close to since arriving in town, was an ex-detective, and she quickly realised that he'd been investigating her all along. This information stopped Dakota from going to the bar herself, aware that she'd be arrested if she did, and Justin soon got tired of waiting and attempted to leave, but was arrested in the process - though he refused to give any information about who he was working for.
