When a pregnant Libby Kennedy was passed over for a job at The Chronicle newspaper, she, along with her friend Nadia Costello, used the settlement money to start up their own magazine, Demo. As their plans got underway, Nadia started to feel sidelined by Libby, who refused to listen to most of her ideas. When Libby then got hold of her first issue, she contacted Nadia, who admitted that she’d been made a better offer and was going to be the editor of The Chronicle’s new youth magazine, Demo, meaning that Libby had not only lost her partner, but also had magazine title, which she had failed to put a national copyright on.
