On Sky Mangel’s first day as a university student, she was excited about finally being able to make a difference to society and be herself. When she approached another student, Dex Cummings, and asked him about joining some clubs, he told her that nobody was interested in that any more and would rather be out partying. Some weeks later, Dex, a film studies student on the same course as Stingray Timmins, approached Stingray’s dad, Kim, about some cheap pirate DVDs he’d got his son. Kim agreed to make some more for Dex and, before long, was running a pirate DVD business which ultimately saw him on the run from the police.
