Food critic Brian Curtis came to review Lou’s Place pub for a spot in the annual Perfect Pub competition. However, pub owner Lou was very distracted during Brian’s visit, due to his close friend Madge Bishop being in the final stages of terminal cancer. In something of a tribute to Madge, Lou decided to serve up a spaghetti dish from a recipe book Madge had written – Ramsay Recipes. Brian was extremely impressed with Spag Madge and announced that he would be putting Lou’s Place on the competition shortlist.
